The best medium armors and their locations in Baldur's Gate 3

Medium armor is an interesting armor option in Baldur's Gate 3. As the name suggests, it's between light and heavy armor, offering greater defensive capabilities than the former, taking better advantage of overall agility than the latter. It's a nice option for higher dexterity builds, but not so high that it makes light armor the better option.

It has one more unique trait that only triggers when worn by Githyanki: it gives you resistance to psychic damage, making your character a threat to Mind Flayers, as Gith should be.

If this armor interests you, you will have to fight for it. You can get it by looting Ch'r'ai Tska'an, a Githyanki who will ambush you in Act 2 near the checkpoint leading to Baldur's Gate.

4 Half plate Dark Justiciar

Once upgraded, your base AC goes to 17 and you gain a unique perk: when Shield of Faith is activated, all damage taken is reduced by two, and regardless of the attack, you'll take a d4 of necrotic damage. The rare version can be found in the Gauntlet of Shar, along with the Spear of Night, but to upgrade it to a very rare iteration, you'll need to kill Nightsong.

3 Flame Enamelled Armor

It also gives you a +2 to both your initiative and saving throws, along with the power to cast the Fire Shield spell, but only the Warm version, which will give you temporary resistance to cold damage and will damage anyone who attacks you in melee for 2d8 fire damage.

If you want this armor, though, then be ready to do some killing. It's located in a chest in a restricted area of ​​Wyrm's Rock, which means you'll have to sneak around and get it. Or you can fight everyone; it might be needed anyway, depending on your choices.

You can get it in Act 3 by buying it from Dammon. The good thing is that it's not the most expensive thing in the world. The bad part is that our next entry is essentially a better version of this armor that becomes available around the same time. This is mainly a good choice due to money issues or if both you and a companion need one of these medium armors without dexterity limitations.

1 Armor of Agility

Similar to the previous entry, The Armor of Agility allows you to add the full Dexterity bonus to AC instead of just the +2 limitation. The base AC here is 17 though, which is a significant bonus and also allows you to ignore the disadvantage of Stealth checks.

Essentially a character with 20 dexterity will have an AC of 22 alone with this armor and you can go more than 20 to your dexterity or wear a shield to get that number even higher – with the right set and this armor , it is possible to reach an AC of 28. It also gives you a +2 bonus when making saving throws.
