Al-Balsam and SANS to provide health awareness services

JEDDAH: The Jeddah 2024 season was officially opened on Thursday, under the theme ‘Once More’.

The opening ceremony was held at the Art Promenade in Jeddah under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region and Chairman of the National Assessment Committee for Jeddah Governorate, and Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jhalawi, Governor of Jeddah.

Visitors were treated to a drone show, fireworks and other visual displays as the season’s schedule of events was announced.

“The fireworks were amazing!” said local man Abdul Rahman. “They lasted a good 15 to 20 minutes and the whole audience was mesmerized.”

Another visitor, Sana Hamid, said: “I have never seen so many people at an opening ceremony. It was absolutely magical and I can’t imagine how amazing the rest of the events will be.

“Crowd handling was also impressive. Although we had to walk a bit, the arrangements were well organized.”

The 2024 Jeddah season lasts 60 days and is packed with activities and events for all tastes. It is also designed to boost the Kingdom’s economy and provide jobs for young people.

Art lovers can immerse themselves in ‘Imagine Monet’, an exhibition featuring 200 works by the French artist, while children are sure to enjoy Joy Plec, which includes many fun areas, each with a different theme.

Among the opening day treats were the Beach Club — a resort-style retreat in Ash Shati, offering a relaxing escape through August 17 — and Warner Bros. Discovery, where visitors can hang out with their favorite characters from cartoons and comics, such as Tom and Jerry, Batman and Superman.

City Walk returns for its fourth year, offering interactive experiences, games, games, dining and shopping, while there will be many events and concerts in Prince Majid Park in the coming weeks.

Tickets for all events can be booked through the Saudi Events website.
