Alex de Minaur will enter the Australian Open as the tenth seed, the highest-ranked man in almost 20 years.

He has started his year on fire as he piled up victories against top 10 opponents which has seen him crack the ATP top 10 for the first time in his career.

No Australian man has held the trophy aloft since Mark Edmondson did so back in 1976, meaning de Minaur would need to snap a 48-year drought.

He’ll be given an almighty test in his opening round clash after he was drawn to take on former world number three Milos Raonic.

The big serving Canadian will be hoping to cause the stunning boilover and advance into the second round.
