Treyarch is releasing a new fix for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6addressing the recently discovered Gunsmith issue that left the community frustrated. As a live service, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 it is constantly updated with big and small updates.
Following a recent Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 update, players have noticed a strange issue happening when using the Gunsmith feature in multiplayer. While trying to customize a weapon with a new optic, players were frustrated by a bug that deselects the optic once the weapon has been re-edited. Essentially, once the player tries to edit the weapon again in Gunsmith, the previously selected optic will be completely removed, leaving the weapon with the default iron sight option.

As revealed on the Call of Duty Updates social media account, the developer was able to quickly identify and then provide a hotfix for the issue affecting the optical attachments in Black Ops 6 Armorer. Naturally, feedback on the fix has been positive, with an obvious sigh of relief from the community that they no longer have to constantly go into Gunsmith to adjust the weapon's optics.
This smaller update follows a larger and more traditional update, one that largely offers weapon balancing in Black Ops 6. Recently, some players noticed that certain weapons couldn't keep up with assault rifles like the XM4. Associate Director Matt Scronce indicated Black Ops 6 would receive a weapon tuning update, and as it turns out, players didn't have to wait until Season 1 arrived to see a much-needed boost to SMGs.
