It's been a tough few years Call of Duty Zombies. Although Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarThe Outbreak Zombies mod brought some interesting ideas to the table, Modern warfare 3Its open-world Zombies mode learned the wrong lessons from it, offering a rather generic, lifeless mode that lacked the identity and beloved gameplay loop of its predecessors. Fortunately, however, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 it was the return to form that fans had hoped it would be.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Its Zombies mode is the best the franchise has been in a long time, offering two maps at launch that harken back to the golden age of the franchise. But Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Zombies' offerings don't stop at its dedicated mode. In a surprising move, Black Ops 6His campaign includes a few zombie-themed missions, and while they're pretty rudimentary, they could pave the way for a new kind of Call of Duty Zombies experience.

“Emergence” in Black Ops 6 is a Glorified Zombies Boss Gauntlet
About half way Call of Duty: Black Ops 6In his campaign, players embark on a quest that quickly takes a turn for the paranormal. Titled “Emergence,” this mission sees player-character Case making his way through an abandoned secret CIA research facility that was the site of biological weapons experiments. Early in the mission, Case inhales some of this bioweapon and starts hallucinating some familiar enemies.
A small army of zombie researchers, scientists, and facility workers begin following the player through the halls of the facility. The player must fight through this army of the dead and obtain three cards that belonged to the unit directors. Upon touching these cards, the player is presented with a boss battle, each taking the appearance and abilities of a boss monster from Black Ops 6his Zombie mode, such as Mangler and Abomination.
“Apparition” quickly became one of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Its most popular missions with its stunning narrative and presentation that set it apart from the traditional Call of duty levels. It's also fun to watch Call of dutyhis zombies play a role in a more narrative-focused setting. while CoD Zombies has its story Easter Eggs, it might be interesting to see the mod take things a step further and offer a full story campaign with a structure and objectives similar to those found in Emergence.
Black Ops 6's “separation anxiety” shows how a zombie gameplay might work
But a story based on the story Call of Duty Zombies The mode wouldn't be too entertaining if it just followed the Emergence structure of achieving an objective, fighting a boss, repeat. Instead, a full story mode for Call of Duty Zombies would need some fasteners to keep players engaged and luckily Call of Duty: Black Ops 6his campaign paves the way for that too.
In the penultimate mission a Black Ops 6In its campaign, titled “Separation Anxiety,” players take control of ex-CIA manager-turned-villain Jane Harrow as she suffers from mental dissociation caused by Frank Woods' interrogation. Another amazing mission, “Separation Anxiety” sees Harrow face off against pale, zombie-like versions of herself.
The final moments of “Separation Anxiety” see players running through a skyscraper, exploding into zombified harrows and jumping into a helicopter. When on board, players take control of the helicopter's mounted gun and rain down fire on the army of zombie-like enemies that jump from the surrounding skyscrapers. It's a thrilling set piece and a solid blueprint for a real one Call of Duty Zombies campaign.
