The Daredevil: Born Again trailer premiered at New York Comic-Con 2024. While the preview has yet to be released to the public, it has surfaced online, confirming that at least one significant event in the Netflix series is canon.
Daredevil: Born Again marks the long-awaited return of Charlie Cox as the eponymous hero nearly 7 years after the cancellation of the character's Netflix series. While Cox's Daredevil / Matt Murdock appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and from Marvel Television Echothese were side appearances consisting of one scene each. The Daredevil: Born Again The creative team has been tight-lipped about whether or not the Netflix series is MCU canon, or whether the Disney Plus series will feature variations on characters fans love from the original series, but the new trailer confirms one. Daredevil the season 3 event happened yet.

At New York Comic-Con 2024, Cox and Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio made appearances to promote Daredevil: Born Againwhich released its first full trailer and announced a March 4, 2025 release date. Shade Studios' Marissa Hill shot the footage Daredevil: Born Again trailer, giving fans who couldn't attend the convention a chance to see more fan-favorite characters in action. The Daredevil: Born Again trailer features the White Tiger in costume, Jon Bernthal's Punisher facing off against Matt Murdock, and the much-celebrated return of Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page and Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson. The latter two were fan-favorite characters from the Netflix series and Matt Murdock's closest friends. However, they were not included in the Daredevil: Born Again until the series underwent dramatic rewrites.
Perhaps the most notable moment in the trailer is Daredevil: Born Againthe reunion of Matt Murdock and the Kingpin. Although both characters have appeared in various MCU projects, they have yet to share the screen since the Netflix series was canceled. The Daredevil: Born Again The trailer shows the two enemies meeting at a restaurant, where Matt Murdock warns Kinpin that he'll be there if the crime lord gets out of line. The Kingpin responds by asking if Matt Murdock is the one giving the warning or if it's his “darker half”, seemingly confirming that he knows Daredevil's true identity. This means that the Kingpin discovering Daredevil's secret identity at the end of the Netflix show's third season is MCU canon.
On the other hand, Kingpin could have discovered Daredevil's secret identity in a different way in the MCU. Perhaps Marvel Studios will play fast and loose with what's canon, counting the events of the Netflix series if necessary, but not owing them if Daredevil: Born Again he wants to go in a different direction. Only about 4 months to go Daredevil: Born Again is coming to Disney Plus, so fans will find out soon enough.
