The Call of duty the franchise has gone through many evolutions over the years, from jetpacks and energy weapons to a hugely popular Battle Royale spin-off. Having been around for over twenty years now, Call of duty the community has almost seen it all. While some titles were much better received than others, the latest innovation in the series came with Black Ops 6which introduced a new omnidirectional movement system that allows users to sprint, dive, and walk at an angle in any direction. Call of Duty insider leaks future plans
According to TheGhostOfHope, an acquaintance Call of duty Leaker, Microsoft has now appointed a committee to oversee any new features and systems that may be added to the franchise in the future. Hope explains that features like the recently introduced Omnimovement will not be decided by the likes of Treyarch or Infinity Ward, but by a committee set up by Microsoft, which now owns Activision-Blizzard after a successful acquisition in October 2023.
The leaker went on to claim that studios are told not to innovate Call of dutyControversial UI, its Prestige system and other game features. Instead, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and other supporting studios are told to focus on innovation on multiplayer maps, game modes, and storytelling because “that's where they want the creativity to come from.” In response to a fan, Hope discussed the shooter's interface in more detail, stating that Activision plans to bring the game's interface “closer and closer” to the older games in the series.
If this leak is true, it's unclear how major an effect this will have on the future Call of duty the franchise. While some fans, like TacticalBrit, think this is “the best for the franchise,” others aren't so sure what to make of it. InfoCoDES said they “don't know if this is good or bad,” while Thereswru echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “This could be so bad or decent.”
