The first season focused on Jinwoo's journey from a helpless E-rank hunter to someone who can hold his own against the ferocious monsters in the dungeon. The second season is about his unstoppable rise to the pinnacle of power, S-Rank Hunter. As such, there will be quite a few new characters introduced in the new season. Out of all of them, here are 8 characters that will shine the most. By the way, since this information is based on the original webcomic, there will be some minor spoilers ahead. Choi Jong-In is the master of the largest guild in South Korea, the Hunters Guild. This guild has 2 S-rank hunters, tons of A-rank hunters, and countless B-rank hunters. That's why they're the only guild in the country that has 2 Strike Squads.

At the heart of the Hunters Guild is its master, Choi Jong-In. He is an S rank fire mage who specializes in large scale attacks. He will show some of his firepower in the second season, but we won't see Choi Jong-In unleashing his full power. However, we will see him engage in a hilarious bidding war with Baek Yoonho to see who can convince Sung Jinwoo to join their guild first.

Hwang Dongsoo

Hwang Dongsoo is an S-rank hunter born in Korea who decided to join a famous guild in the US called the Scavenger Guild. This decision sparked outrage among the Korean people, some of whom even called him a traitor. Hwang Dongsoo himself is an arrogant man with a short fuse. He knows he is powerful and will not hesitate to threaten people with his power.

Hwang Dongsoo has a brother named Hwang Dongsuk, who was actually the cruel man that Jinwoo killed in the dungeon in the first season. The purpose of Hwang Dongsoo's appearance in the second season is to hunt down his brother's killer, Sung Jinwoo.

Baek Yoonho

Baek Yoonho is an S-rank hunter and master of South Korea's second largest guild, the White Tiger Guild. He is a fighter who can transform into a magical white beast. The transformation comes gradually, and the closer it gets to the original form of the White Beast, the stronger it is.

Like Choi Jong-In, we won't be seeing Baek Yoonho unleash his full power in Season 2. As mentioned earlier, he mostly appears in his capacity as a guild master, specifically trying to was recruiting Sung Jinwoo into his guild. That being said, we will see the power of Baek Yoonho's white beast during his fight with another S-rank hunter, Hwang Dongsoo.

Cha Hae-In

Cha Hae-In is an S-rank hunter and the deputy master of the Hunters Guild. Despite being one of the youngest S-Rank Hunters in the world, Cha Hae-In is actually among the top 3 strongest S-Rank Hunters in South Korea. There's even an argument to be made that she's actually stronger than her guild master, Choi Jong-In. That being said, since Cha Hae-In is a specialist swordsman, her role is different from Choi Jong-In's in the heavy hitters, so it's actually difficult to compare the two.

Cha Hae-In will appear around the same time as Choi Jong-In. Unlike her guild master, however, Cha Hae-In is more interested in Sung Jinwoo as a person, not as a hunter. We won't see her using her full powers in season 2, but we will get to witness Cha Hae-In demolishing monsters in a dungeon.

Go Gunhee

Go Gunhee is an S-rank hunter and the president of the Hunter Association of Korea. As a person who is already 80 years old, he is one of the oldest S-rank hunters in the world. However, despite his old age, Go Gunhee is still an intimidating man due to his huge height and battle-like body.

Although still an S-Rank, Go Gunhee is no longer active in the frontline. His focus is on feeding and regulating the countless active hunters in South Korea. In Season 2, Go Gunhee is one of the first people to recognize Sung Jinwoo's strength.

As the name suggests, Solo leveling is a story that focuses on the protagonist's solo journey to level up, challenging dungeons and defeating monsters. As such, the overwhelming majority of the story will be about the protagonist himself, Sung Jinwoo. However, as we saw at the end of the first season, Sung Jinwoo will not struggle through these difficult paths alone. He will fight alongside his shadow soldiers.

His first Shadow Solider is none other than Igriss, the Red Knight. Igriss will have a much more prominent role during Jinwoo's increasingly dangerous dungeon dives in Season 2. Not only that, Jinwoo will be adding more reliable shadow soldiers to his army, such as Iron the Warrior, Tank the Mad Beast and Tusk the Fearsome Mage. Their exploits with the Shadow Monarch will surely be the highlight of season 2.

After all, when he's raiding dungeons upon dungeons and fighting terrifying monsters every day, some major changes are bound to happen. We will have a calmer, more calculated, leaner, more muscular, and certainly much more lethal version of Sung Jinwoo.
