One of the most essential missions in Cyberpunk 2077 it comes as optional and some players may never have seen or known how to fill it in correctly. Obtain and complete the mission Chippin' In in Cyberpunk 2077 it's vital to the secret ending and will also get them some goodies along the way, like how to get Johnny's car, gun, and jacket, all in one mission.
Chipping In in Cyberpunk 2077 it's integral to V and Johnny's relationship, so filling out and ticking all the boxes to ensure maximum success should be every player's priority once they reach Act Three. Listed below will be the specific dialogue that players must choose, as well as how to complete Chippin' In.
How to unlock the Chippin' In mission in Cyberpunk 2077
Once players have completed the Main Job Quest and Destruction, they can begin Act Three of Cyberpunk 2077 and talk to Johnny. After doing so, V will have a relic attack and wake up in an abandoned hotel in Pacifica, thus starting the final part of the Tapeworm quest. Johnny and V will have a heart to heart where Johnny gives V the old dog tags. Regardless of how players feel about Johnny, it's important to select the following dialogue options to unlock the Chippin' In mission:
- [Stand] Meaning.
- So I tell Rogue everything?
- Tell me what you're planning.
- GOOD. I'll give you control.
By selecting these dialogue options, V will agree to allow Johnny control of their body just to talk to Rogue in the afterlife, thus activating the quest chain for Chippin' In. All players have to do now is go down the stairs into the Afterlife club, where Johnny will ask if V is ready, to which V must answer:
- [Take Misty’s pills] Ready.
Once V takes the pills and Johnny takes over, players are treated to an interactive scene of Johnny's wild night in Night City. There's not much to note in this fun scene, and no decisions affect the quest or the future of Johnny and V's relationship, so feel free to select anything, including what drink Johnny wants, what pill he wants to take, and whether he'd rather give V a goat tattoo with “the other” which is a love heart that says “V + Johnny”. At the end of this mission, Rogue will wake up V, and now all players have to do is wait 24 hours for Rogue to call.
Meet Rogue in the afterlife
To speed up the process, players can go into their interactive menu, select the Skip Time option, and wait a full 24 hours. After this, Rogue will call V and tell them to meet her in the afterlife. By doing so, she will reveal a gift in the trunk of her car, viz a replica of Johnny Silverhand's jacket. While they don't offer bonuses, it's nice to claim a free piece of Johnny's outfit to complete the look. From here, players just need to get in the passenger seat and enjoy the ride with Rogue as she drives to the docks of the Northside Shipyard, where they must reach Ebunike to find Adam Smasher.
Find Dataterm
Once V and Rogue reach the docks, they are tasked with reaching the dataterm. Rogue might prefer to take a stealthy approach here as the docks are full of Maelstrom. However, this has no consequence to the mission, and players can either shoot their way to the dataterm or sneak through. For better immersion, we decided to go stealth for this part of the mission, using data hacks to distract enemies, disable cameras, and hide the data terminal. Once at the dataterm, players must access it and read through to Messages and then to Ebunike, who will then activate the next step of the mission.
Defeat Jeremiah Grayson on Ebunike
Regardless of whether players engaged in stealth or full-on action, once players climb the stairs on Ebunike, they will be spotted and attacked by Maelstrom and Jeremiah Grayson. Defeat all the enemies and then talk to the injured Grayson, where is a quest objective to claim Johnny Silverhand's gun from him: famous Malorian weapons 3516. Once claimed, players can interrogate Grayson for information on Adam Smasher, but it gets nowhere. From this point, players want to select the option:
- [Drawn weapon] I don't want anything from you.
This will see V kill Grayson, and then from his corpse, they can steal an old access card. Although completely optional, players can use this old access card for go down the stairs at Ebunike where they killed grayson go up a staircase to the leftand start a terminal that will drop a shipping container.
Heading to the shipping container, players can use the old access card to unlock it, revealing Johnny Silverhand's Porsche 911 Turbo (930), which it is now theirs to keep. Players can then take this vehicle, or any vehicle, to the oil fields to find Johnny's body.
Players can still claim the Porsche 911 if they select the option to save Grayson, and this will give him a specific waypoint. However, it's probably best to kill him unless players are specifically going for a non-lethal run.
Talk to Johnny at the oil fields
Once the players have reached the oil fields, Johnny will become a bit pitiful, knowing that his body was just tossed aside for the trash heap. This moment is essential for those who seek friendship with Johnny Silverhand and those who want to unlock him Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending. The dialogue chain specific to the ending (Don't be afraid) Reaper is as follows:
- [Sit] Are you expecting a tombstone?
- [Inscribe Johnny’s initials] Let's do something about it.
- “The guy who saved my life.”
- Nah, f#### that's done too.
- what do you want from me
- GOOD. But as second chances roll in, this is your last.
- You were a real d### in the beginning.
- When you said you let your friends down…
- Smasher biz really got to it.
- Yeah, I'll call Rogue.
After selecting each of these dialogue options, players will have completed the Chippin' In mission Cyberpunk 2077while they had also received a few bonuses for their trouble. Not only will players be unlocked Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending and promoted their relationship with Johnny Silverhand, but now they have access to Johnny's jacket, car, gun, and Johnny's next relationship quest, Blistering Love.
Let's say the players aren't interested in their relationship with Johnny or the secret ending Cyberpunk 2077. In in this case, they can select any dialogue option at the oilfields, as they will complete the Chippin' In and would have claimed all the rewards throughout the mission.
