With the holiday season approaching, Bungie is teasing the exotic changes to come Destiny 2 in January, with the start of Act 3. Act 2 entered its slow period, giving Destiny 2 players have a chance to catch up on content or get certain types of loot before Act 3 arrives on January 7th.
To help with the downtime, Bungie also launched the annual Dawning event in Destiny 2. While most of the event remains the same as it has been for years, purchasing ingredients and baking cookies for NPCs, this year adds a community challenge, a new Void linear fusion rifle, and a dragon-inspired armor set. With that and the holidays fast approaching, Bungie decided to set their fan expectations for the new year.

Destiny 2 Act 3 Exotic Gear Changes
For many fans, the big news came below as Bungie revealed some details about a new update that is set to arrive on January 14th. While certain weapon archetypes and weapon perks are being changed, Bungie also highlights 3 specific exotic items that will be changed. . The exotic class item Stoicism gets a bug fixed for Spirit of Alpha Lupi, and the Malfeasance hand cannon gets a boost, as it previously lacked the intrinsic effects from the Precision Hand Cannon perk. However, the Graviton Lance exotic pulse rifle is getting a nerf as Bungie has indicated that it dominates the low and mid skill lobbies. To counter this, the Graviton Lance drops its RPM back to 300, as it was before the Act 2 update.
This is likely to be the first major update Destiny 2 sees following the holiday break, the latest patch finally addressing an annoying bug. Recently, players discovered a frustrating bug related to Tomb of Elders tonics, increasing the drop rates of the wrong weapons. While bugs and issues were prevalent during the Revenant episode, Destiny 2 received a new update that finally fixed this issue.
