Bungie should allow players to access high-ranking rewards at any time to address missed opportunities.
There are many advantages to cultivating Iron Banner Destiny 2 for loot, though the activity is undoubtedly very FOMO-centric as it's only available for a few weeks each episode, thus “forcing” Guardians to play some matches in order not to lose its exclusive rewards. This is true for different systems in Destiny 2though Iron Banner may make this all the more obvious given that it's a PvP mode with a mixed reputation. In Revenant's case, Iron Banner introduced a very popular and sought after weapon that combines a great archetype and some amazing rolls, only to make it very hard to obtain. Things have taken a turn for the worse recently, sparking a debate about what Bungie can do to improve the experience.
It is not unusual for Destiny 2Iron Banner or other game modes to add tracking weapons at some point, like the Cataphract grenade launcher for Trials of Osiris or the recent Tinasha's Master missile weapon for IB. Tinasha's Mastery in particular is still sought after by many players due to the popularity of missile weapons in general and the fact that this particular weapon can cast High-Explosive Ordnance, Air Trigger and Chill Clip to become a powerhouse in PvE. Now that the Iron Banners are back, Bungie has added a nice roll of Chill Clip as a free obtain for ranking up Lord Saladin's reputation, leaving a large portion of the game's population behind.

Why Tinasha's Mastery in Destiny 2 has sparked an Iron Banner debate
Destiny 2His Chill Clip perk is especially powerful in PvE, as he can freeze any enemy on the first hit and freeze on the second or third depending on the weapon type, making him incredibly powerful in a multitude of situations. These include:
-
Empowering Stasis builds or Prismatic builds using Stasis, as Chill Clip uses two Stasis verbs
-
Amazing overcharge and unstoppable champions in Destiny 2 easily regardless of the selection of a season of anti-champion perks for Artifact
-
Control the battlefield even in non-synergistic builds thanks to the ability to chill and freeze with ease
All of these are great for missile weapons as they are a powerful archetype with good ammo economy and also the Kinetic slot in a player's inventory might not have a better weapon to use unless one uses specific rolls or exotic for different cases. . As such, Tinasha's Mastery is one of the Destiny 2His best weapons right now, but it's hard to get a decent roll. With last week's Iron Banner, Bungie added Tinasha's Master to the reward track at rank 4, essentially giving players a free Chill Clip roll. The problem is that new bounties can't be claimed retroactively if they've only been taken once, so anyone who already got a rank 4 bounty from a previous iteration of the Iron Banner couldn't get the role.
Destiny 2 should allow players to earn rewards for ranking up at any time
Considering that the free Chill Clip roll guaranteed by Iron Banner for Tinasha's Mastery was far from a divine roll, it's likely that players could have gotten a better one simply by turning Engrams. However, the problem is that seller rewards change over time, and one cannot go back to beat the new ones or others. As such, Bungie should at least allow players to purchase these scrolls from their respective vendors or from Banshee-44 at the Tower when they change, as well as more Destiny 2 god scrolls were given away for free after the perk weighting controversy.
This wouldn't be too much of a ask considering that sometimes the top tier vendor rewards change even in the same week, as is the case with the Iron Banner, so giving players a chance to get them regardless would be a good move. If there is to be a requirement, then players may have reached that specific rank at least once in that season or episode. Destiny 2Episode 3 of it already makes some good changes, but it remains to be seen if they'll include anything for the seller boost rewards – especially for Iron Banner.
