Only a few months until the highly anticipated RPG Declared Launching on February 18, 2025, Microsoft has revealed how interested fans can get early access to the game. Developed by Fallout: New Vegas studio Obsidian Entertainment, Declared will bring players to a new and unexplored section of it Pillars of Eternity setting.

Although not a direct sequel to Pillars of Eternity titles, Declared it is still highly anticipated by fans for its place in the same world. It takes place in the “Living Lands” region of Eora, a part of the world never before seen or detailed in previous titles. Unfortunately, the game has been pushed back from its first reveal in 2020 by one Declared is pushing the game back to February 2025 to give players more “breathing room” amid an abundance of major titles being published by Xbox Game Studios.

With the release date set, Xbox announced that Declared pre-orders are now open and have revealed more details about the game's release, including how fans can get early access. According to the announcement, purchasing the Premium Edition a Declared on PC or Xbox Series consoles will unlock up to five days of early access, meaning fans can start playing as early as February 13, 2024. Declared it's also a first-day Xbox Game Pass release, so interested players who don't want to pay more outside of the subscription price can access the game at its scheduled launch time on February 18th.

The announcement also detailed what fans who choose to pay extra can get in the base game. In addition to early access to the game, the Premium Edition a Declared will include a digital art book and soundtrack, and a pair of premium skin packs for the game Declared accompanying characters. A premium SteelBook edition of the game also includes a physical SteelBook case and a printed map of the Living Lands, as well as a letter from the developer.


The two skin packs include skins inspired by the iconic Pillars of Eternity characters and regions, as well as an “Obsidian Collection” pack containing stylish black outfits. Players who purchase the base game through their Xbox Game Pass subscription or purchase the Standard Edition can also upgrade to the Premium Digital Edition later for an additional fee. Doing so gives them access to all promised digital content, including early access if they upgrade before the game's global release date.
