Every League Of Legends champion in Arcane

Key recommendations

  • Arcane features several League of Legends champions from Piltover and Zaun, some playing major roles.
  • Vi, Jinx, Jayce, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, and Viktor are among the champions featured in the series.
  • The series became a success, concluding its story with the potential for more champions and future projects.

Arcane takes place in Piltover and Zuan, so no doubt we were going to see some champions calling these sister cities home. Between characters from these locations, other nations, a restyled Viktor, and an Arcane character who became a champion, there are quite a few League of Legends champions in Arcane. These champions range from main characters of the series to supporting characters in the story.

League Of Legends: 10 rarest skins in the game

League of Legends was released in 2009 and there are hundreds of skins in the game. Here are some of the rarest ones ever released.

Arcane has quickly become one of Netflix's most-watched and top-rated series. And while we'll probably get more shows in Runeterra, this particular story is wrapped up, with many champions appearing and some being teased for the future of the franchise.

Updated on December 2, 2024 by Lucas Olah: With a new season comes new characters – and some of them are champions. Arcane has released its second and final season, ending Piltover and Zaun's story, at least for now. While we wait for the next League of Legends series, we have several characters to talk about, as well as a few that have been mentioned and will likely appear in future projects because of it.

This list contains spoilers for Arcane.

12 Vi

Piltover Enforcer

Coming to season 2 of Arcane.

Vi is one of the main characters in Arcane, and her story parallels her sister Powder (aka Jinx). We see Vi and Powder as children and how their relationship changes over time, as well as how much it affects the world around them.

We also get to see the origin of her gloves, given to her by Jayce and his HexTech, and how her relationship with Caitlyn evolves and how their relationship keeps them from going down dark paths. Ultimately, it's curious to see how someone from Zaun ended up earning the title of Piltover Enforcer – even if the title isn't explicitly used in the show.

11 Jinx

The loose cannon

A close-up of the character Jinx from the Netflix series Arcane.

Jinx (aka Powder) is Vi's younger sister and Silco's adopted daughter. As a result of her traumatic childhood with Vi, Jinx developed deep psychological trauma. After Vi appears to abandon her, she becomes Silco's adopted daughter. Silco teaches her to use her anger to defeat her enemies.

That being said, Jinx and Silco share a bond in that they were betrayed by their families. Thus, we see her journey through her broken mind and how she manages to heal, showing that there is much more to Jinx than meets the eye.

10 Jayce

The defender of tomorrow

A close-up of the character Jayce from the Netflix series Arcane, holding a device.

Although not the person who really starts the events of the show, Jayce is responsible for a lot of things here, being a key character in both seasons. He is the man who created Hextech through arcane (along with Viktor) and many things happened because of it.

He also goes through a powerful journey from pacifist to man willing to do what is necessary for a better tomorrow, making his title well-earned. His evolution is truly astounding and fascinating to watch, making you unsure if he's making good decisions at times.

9 Heimerdinger

The Venerable Inventor

Heimerdinger in Arcana.

Heimerdinger is an advisor to Piltover and a mentor figure to Jayce (and Ekko, eventually). Heimerdinger is known for his great inventions and wisdom as well as his age. His wisdom is probably why he is also the head of the Piltover council, although he eventually leaves the position and learns more about the world.

His growth in learning more about others and living more in the present makes him a fascinating character and he provides a lot in his supporting role (as he should) as he makes other characters excel throughout the series.

8 Caitlyn

The Sheriff of Piltover

A close-up of the character Caitlyn from the Netflix series Arcane, looking down a spyglass.

From expert marksman to advisor and near-dictator, Caitlyn goes through quite the journey here. Her story shows how important it is to understand the difference between justice and revenge, as there can be many pitfalls along the way when the people you love are caught in the crossfire.

As I mentioned briefly, both Caitlyn and Vi's characters have a strong dynamic and both help each other out a lot, making them both better characters in the process, with an amazing love arc between them.

7 Victor

The Machine Herald

Viktor's full transformation into Arcane.

Viktor looks very different from his champion form and we learn more about his tragic origin through Arcane. Viktor helps Jayce complete his Hextech research and even saves Jayce from complete despair when the council blocks his research.

Most of the backstories of the League champion are extremely tragic, but still amazing. Which backstory is the best written overall?

Viktor is also dealing with a crippling disease that Hextech could cure, and is determined to use Hextech not just for himself, but to improve everyone's lives. This pursuit becomes an obsession, causing Viktor to act recklessly and selfishly. It's worth noting that the series made him less technologically savvy and gave him a more divine appearance, and the game updated his appearance to match the series.

6 Singed

The Mad Chemist

Doctor Reveck shows up early on and is also the catalyst for a lot of things in the series – most of which are bad. He creates drugs and conducts unethical experiments on animals and even humans without any sign of remorse.

We'll leave it up to you guys to watch the show and find out his reasons, but while he's not as prominent as others, he has a compelling reason for everything he does, so we'll give him that.

5 Eko

The boy who shattered time

Arcane image showing Ekko about to strike.

Ekko appears as a child in the first episode of Arcane. He is a childhood friend of Vi and Jinx, having grown up with them in Zaun. He even tipped them off to break into the Piltover penthouse. Later in the show, he becomes the leader of the Firelights and does everything he can to help his community.

Ultimately, we will see how he becomes the boy who shattered time, as well as his extraordinary willpower as he is determined to help those he cares about most. And let's face it; we all know he was the MVP of the show.

4 The ambassador

The War Matriarch

A close-up of the character Ambessa from the Netflix series Arcane, roaring and holding out a sword.

Doing a complete 180 compared to the rest of the champions here, Ambessa is an original Arcane character who later became a champion in League of Legends. She is the matriarch of the Medarda family and a powerful Noxian general interested in power so she can protect what she values.

A lot can happen in four seconds.

There is also a good chance that her daughter, Mel, will become a champion. That said, there is no official confirmation, so we're sticking with Ambesa for now.

3 Warwick

Zaun's Unleashed Wrath

Vander as Warwick in Arcane.

Poor Vander, he didn't catch a break in the show. Many people have theorized about Vander returning in season two as Warwick, but be careful what you wish for. That said, Warwick appears in a story that is both intense and sad.

His appearance is also somewhat more humanized, so we can still see the man he once was before the transformation, even during the final scenes. It remains to be seen whether he will become more animalistic if the character reappears.

2 Orianna

Lady of the Mechanism

Orianna looking at her reflection with Singed behind her in Arcane.

Orianna makes a very quick cameo. So fast, in fact, you might even miss it if you blink or if you're still crying over the events leading up to her appearance. Anyway, here she is, saved by her father with the help of Viktor, given how her robot body looks.

Because she's a cameo, there are no lines for her, and we don't know how her relationship with Singed will go from here, or even what she thinks about what she is now. This is one for the future.

1 Honorable Mentions

Not present, but referred to

League of Legends has far too many champions for only 18 episodes of a TV series, so most of them obviously didn't make the cut. However, while Arcane is over and done with, the show teases more for the future, whether it's in the form of differently-named shows, other games, or whatever Riot decides to do.

Thus, some characters are mentioned in one way or another, which makes them worth mentioning, such as:

  • relatives, who has a mask that looks like him, is worn by a random extra;
  • Teemo, who seems to have books written about him;
  • Swain, whose three-eyed raven appears by the end of the last episode;
  • Jhin, who was referenced by an additional character (who gets more attention than extras), who may or may not actually be him before his champion persona;
  • LeBlanc, of which order, the Black Rose, appears significantly. We see one of his mages, an unnamed woman (not even in the credits). Because she changes forms, this mysterious woman could be LeBlanc herself or just someone else in the order, but there is no confirmation.
