Halloween is an important time in the world Fallout 76. The bombs fell on October 23rd, which means every building in Appalachia is left to rot with their Halloween decorations still hanging in their windows and on their porches. For the most part, Halloween tends to be a very busy time Fallout 76.

Fallout 76: 8 events that offer the best rewards
Players will encounter plenty of goodies throughout the many events of Fallout 76. These examples offer some of the best rewards.
The developers like to bring some events for players to take part in. The main thing that players are waiting for is Scary Scorched Event. This limited-time event sees players hunting across Appalachia in hopes of finding some fearsome foes. This guide will cover everything you need to know about the Spooky Scorched event, including the locations to find Spooky Scorched and the rewards available during this event. Fallout 76 seasonal event.
What are Spooky Scorched in Fallout 76?
Similar to Holiday Scorched, Spooky Scorched are special scorched enemies that are dressed in outfits and make a noise when the player approaches them. Scared burned enemies will always be legendary enemies, making this a great event for farming legendary weapons and armor pieces. There is a 55% chance that a Spooky Scorched enemy will be a 1-star enemy, a 40% chance that it will be a 2-star enemy, and only 5% of them being a 3 star enemy.
Not every Scorched enemy will be a Spooky Scorched variant. Players will have to keep an eye out for those dressed in Halloween outfits. These can spawn wherever regular Scorched enemies spawn. That said, Spooky Scorched enemies cannot appear in a court. An instance is an interior that players load into and that is exclusive to them. The same goes for Daily Ops. If the enemies in a daily operation are burned, you will not find any scary burned enemies because they cannot appear in this game mode. Spooky Scorched can be found all over the map in all outdoor locations.
The audio cue that Spooky Scorched emits is a scary sound that gets louder the closer the player gets to the Spooky Scorched enemy. This makes it quite easy to find them. That said, if you're having a hard time hearing them, take a look at your audio settings and turn down the in-game music – then you'll be able to hear the sound of Spooky Scorched clearly.
When killed, not only does a fear-burned enemy drop a legendary item, but it will also drop a Scary treat bag. This bag contains a lot of goodies for the player, with the potential to contain some rare and highly sought after rewards.
Best locations to find Spooky Scorched
Implicit, each burned enemy has a 10% chance to be a fearsome burned enemy during this event. Because of this, you'll have the best chance of finding more Spooky Scorched in locations that have a lot of Scorched enemies.
While most locations that spawn can be quite fruitful, there are a few locations that stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of the number of spawned enemies. These places can be seen below:
- Palace of the Winding Path
- Morgantown Airport
- Tyler County Fairgrounds
- Wavy Willard's Water Park
- Bolton Greens
- Camden Park
- Helvetia
- Sutton
- Cabin with a view
- Summersville Docks
- Ay Crack Site
Since Spooky Scorched enemies have an audio signal, you won't have to search the entire area to find them. Instead, you can just run around the area listening to that scary sound. If you hear the sound, follow it and kill the scared enemy. If not, simply fast travel to another location or server and continue hunting.

The best events for finding Spooky Scorched in Fallout 76
There are a lot of events that can spawn Scorched enemies. However, there are some that appear much more than others. The best ones to watch can be seen below:
- scorched earth
- Scorched Hoard Events
- Line in the sand
- Distant thunder
- From surface to air
- March of protest
- Census violence
There is also an event that can be triggered by the player: Collision Course.
This event can be triggered every 30 minutes on any given server. Collision Course requires the player to shoot down a total of five waves of Scorched enemies at the bottom end of Morgantown Airport.
Players can expect to find anywhere between 3-7 fearsome enemies during the Collision Course event. Since it's a player-triggered event, it's a great event to grind. Simply jump to a server, complete the event, and then go to a new server to start another one. Grinding this event is much easier if you have a Fallout 1st subscription because it gives you access to a private server.

Spooky Treat Bag Rewards in Fallout 76
There are lots of rewards inside the Spooky Treat bags. That said, most of the rewards are basic stuff like contextual ammo, alcohol, grenades, and pre-war snacks. Another thing players will get is Halloween candy. While this candy can be eaten, its primary purpose is to be used in candy bowls.
For the past few days of Halloween, there have been challenges centered around giving out candy in the CAMP (and taking candy from other players' TUBES). Completing these challenges gives the player some nice items, mainly some desirable consumables like lunch boxes. Throughout the Spooky Scorched event, players can claim a free candy bowl in the Atomic Shop. It is important to keep your candy bowl full of candies so that there is enough for each visiting player. It is also very important to place your candy bowl in a place that is easy to see. If you have it hidden somewhere, then players will give up and head to another CAMP.
For best results, place the bowl next to your CAMP providers on a table with some lights around it to highlight it.
As for the more desirable rewards, players have a small chance to receive some rare rewards when opening a spooky treat bag. First are the outfits. Although they are not particularly rare, they do exist lots of outfits that can be found inside Spooky Treat bags. These can be traded and sold to other players. Out of all the outfits, the ones that deserve the most can be seen below:
- Pirate costume
- Pirate costume hat
- Jack O'Lantern pantsuit
- Short Jack O'Lantern costume
- Rooster gas mask
- Bear gas mask
- Gazelle mask
If you find any of the outfits mentioned above, don't get too excited; players usually won't pay more than a few hundred caps per piece.
As the event goes on, the above items will decrease in value, so it's normally better to sell them early.
