Gunnar's Clear Pro lens is an artist's dream come true

The standout product Gunnar showed at CES this year was undoubtedly the brand's Clear Pro lens, which is currently available in several different collections – Muir, Humboldt, Pacifica, Palomar, Pismo and Tahoe. Gunnar's Clear Pro lens was developed at the request of graphic designers and other creatives who needed the company's patented lens technology, but without the color shift that would inevitably lead to misinterpretation of the colors on their screens.

As the name suggests, Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are completely clear, despite offering the same technology and features as the brand's other lens variants, including its Signature Amber tint. Gunnar Clear Pro lenses are also available for those who need prescription glasses, which ultimately increases their appeal and extends their reach even further.

Gunnar expands its selection of mineral glass

In terms of clear lenses, Gunnar is expanding its mineral glass offering with the new Purity collection, which will be launched in May. Using the same material found in state-of-the-art cameras and telescopes, Gunnar mineral glass lenses eliminate refraction, rainbow effects and image distortion, resulting in unparalleled visual clarity.

At CES, Gunnar unveiled the debut product in the Purity collection, the Tioga, which houses the brand's popular mineral glass lenses in a lightweight, round acetate and reclaimed wood frame with German arch spring hinges. Once the Purity collection launches in May, the Tioga line will be available in Amber and Clear Pro mineral glass for a retail price of around $250.

Gunnar's new Sun-Shift and Viscer models balance adaptability and comfort

Some of Gunnar's more distinctive offerings on display include the brand's new Sun-Shift and Viscer models. The Sun-Shift model is a collaboration with Activision and Call of dutyaptly named “Call of Duty Ghost Edition” and is currently available for purchase. These glasses come with a military-inspired aviator frame, crafted from premium engineering polymer and stainless steel to provide a stylish look and maximum durability. Although the lenses are the Gunnar Signature Amber shade, they can change to a sunglass shade when outdoors in about 15 seconds and then return to Amber after 15 minutes of being indoors.

Gunnar's Viscer isn't here yet, as the company aims to launch it in March of this year. This particular goggle model is similar to ski/snowboard goggles in that they have a wide lens designed to prevent the eyes from drying out by restricting airflow. Ultimately, Gunnar believes they appeal more to the esports crowd, but still offer something unique that anyone could benefit from.

Gunnar's Krista and Pinnacle collections offer more inclusive looks and sizes

In response to customer feedback that most of the brand's eyewear is aimed at men, Gunnar is also launching its new Krista collection this year, which should give those looking for a more feminine look what they're looking for. The collection as a whole will release four distinct lines over the next few months, each with its own look and construction and only $65.

  • Erika (February 2025): Full metal construction with a cat-eye design

  • Eileen (April 2025): elegant and straight lines

  • Ingrid (April 2025): Rounded, matching frames

  • Sophia (April 2025): Rose gold stamped frame with rounded lenses

Customers have also given feedback on the fit of most Gunnar glasses, noting that they generally feel a bit too tight on larger heads. So Gunnar is responding in kind with Pinnacle—a line of king-size glasses aimed at a better fit for larger heads—which is slated for a June 2025 launch.

Gunnar's Quantum and Luma collections combine style with substance

Gunnar also showcased some of its Quantum and Luma collections at CES 2025, both of which are some of its sleeker offerings. Dume sunglasses, as part of the Quantum collection, are inspired by Tony Stark's glasses from the avengers and features gold temples and side shields, incorporating Gunnar Air Shield technology into the mix. Dume is available in Gunnar's Signature Amber, Maximum Protection Amber Max and Sun shades.

The Gunnar Freemont and Campbell lines, which are part of the Luma collection, are both on the way this year as well. These glasses have metal frames with an acetate-marble part and a small vent on the edges. Ultimately, they allow wearers to enjoy all the benefits of a pair of Gunnar glasses while offering a fairly discreet look.

Overall, Gunnar's CES 2025 presentation further demonstrates its commitment to innovation, style and inclusion, setting a new standard for the eyewear industry. Addressing consumer needs with products such as the Clear Pro and Purity collections, while expanding its appeal with others such as the Krista collection, Gunnar continues to prove itself as an admirable competitor in the market. Whether it's enhancing visual clarity for creatives, redefining functionality for gamers, or providing designs for underserved demographics, Gunnar proves that he remains not just a pioneer, but a leader in the field.

Gunnar The glasses are available for purchase on the official Gunnar website.
