Bosses are powerful enemies that add another level of challenge to the game. Here is a complete guide to all enemy bosses in Elden Ring.

Unfortunately, obtaining the Great Rune from a demigod is only part of its activation. Those who wish to activate each Great Rune will need to discover the corresponding Divine Towers scattered across the Performer Lands. Some of them are much easier to find than others, and one in particular holds the Great Rune activation slot for two demigods; Morgott and Mohg. Here's how players can reach the location and activate the powerful runes for these bosses after defeating them in Elden Ring.

Updated October 28, 2024 by Erik Petrovici: When it comes to how to activate the Morgott and Mohg Great Runes, Elden Ring players are in luck: it's actually the same place. What's not quite so simple is making sure you head to the right boss location to get both Mohg and Morgott's Great Runes. These two Omen brothers have multiple locations throughout the game, but only one of their fights actually gives each boss' Great Rune when defeated. This guide has been updated with some more detailed information on how to get to Mohg and Morgott's locations in the Elden Ring, as well as some details on the Divine Tower in East Altus and the effects of each rune.

Where to find Morgott and Mohg in the Elden Ring

Locations Morgott & Mohg

Mohg Morgott

The first step in activating the runes for these two demigods is to unlock them by defeating the bosses themselves. This is easier said than done as Morgott and Mohg are both quite powerful and extremely difficult for some players.

Although you can fight Morgott and Mohg in various forms in several areas of the game, their “real” fights take place at the end of the old dungeon areas. Here's where you can find the actual locations of Morgott and Mohg Elden Ring.

Morgott, Location of the Omen King

Location of Elden Ring Morgott

There are three different versions of Morgott in Elden Ring: one can be found at the entrance to Stormveil Castle, one is located in the outer wall of Leyndell, and one is found at the foot of Erdtree at the end of Leyndell itself.

The first two are actually projections of Morgott (going under the guise of Margit the Fell) and do not cast their Great Rune. The real Morgott the Omen King can only be found at the end of the legacy dungeon in Leyndell, the Royal Capital.

Elden Ring: General Radahn's RPG Building Guide

General Radahn is one of Elden Ring's fan favorite bosses, and roleplaying as Starscourge is just a matter of getting the armor and allocating stats.

It's quite a long and dangerous journey to cross the difficult Leyndell, the Royal Capital, after players enter the city walls. Once you reach the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace, exit through a door to the southwest and go down to the right into an old horse stable.

From there, they can climb the massive Erdtree root ahead of them and wind their way along its path until they reach a balcony and a waiting boss door. Here, players will have to face the ghost of the First Lord Elden, Godfrey. After defeating the boss, they can move into the queen's bedchamber and then climb the long stairs there to face Morgott, the Omen King.

Mohg, Location of the Blood Lord

Location Elden Ring Mohg

There are two different Mohgs Elden Ring: one can be found below Leyndell in the Shunning Grounds, which prevents a secret entrance to the Deeproot Depths, and one can be found atop the Mohgwyn Palace, an endgame area dedicated to the Formless Mother and the Mohgwyn Dynasty. The Shunning Grounds version of Mohg is actually a Shadow, while the real version – the one that casts the Great Rune of Mohg – is found in Mohgwyn's Palace.

Getting to Mohg is a bit trickier than getting to Morgott, as players will have to enter and pass through Mohgwyn's Palace, which is a notoriously punishing area that is relatively hidden. Players can either progress on White-Faced Varre's quest and use the Pureblood Knight's Medal to instantly teleport there, or use a Waygate in the Consecrated Snowfield, located northwest of the Yelough Anix Ruins.

Once players have reached the Mohgwyn Palace, they will want to progress upwards until they find the Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint Site Of Grace. From there, it's a short trip up the stairs and to the right to ride a large elevator to where Mohg's boss room is.

How to activate the great runes of Morgott and Mohg in Elden Ring

Location of the Divine Tower in East Altus

Elden Ring to the Divine Tower

Morgott and Mohg, being brothers born of Omen blood, have Great Runes that can both be activated in the same location: the Divine Tower in East Altus.

Once players have both the Great Runes of Morgott and Mohg, head to Leyndell, the Royal Capital, and progress until you find the lift leading to the Forbidden Lands (to the Grand Lift of Rold). If players take this elevator and look to the right instead of advancing through the door and into the snowy area, they will notice a large bridge that extends to a massive tower.

Players will need to be careful while advancing across the bridge to the tower as they will be trapped in a dark arena by twin bosses, the Fell Twins. The arena for this boss fight is reminiscent of the Four Kings fight Dark soulsbeing a black void where you can only see your enemies and nothing else, but the combat isn't particularly hard.

Once defeated, players can enter the Divine Tower in East Altus and use the elevator to reach the top. There, they will find the Great Rune activation points for both Morgott's and Mohg's Great Runes side by side.

What do the Great Runes of Mohg and Morgott do?

Once players have activated these runes, they can stand at any Site of Grace and choose to equip them, where they will become active whenever players use a Rune Arc.

  • Using Mohg's Great Rune will apply Blood Blessing to any of the Spirit Ashes summoned by the player. This blessing causes them to gain a damage bonus whenever Bloodloss is inflicted on a nearby enemy, and any enemies they kill near the player will heal the player for 10% of their maximum health.

  • The Great Rune of Morgott is a bit simpler. It will greatly improve a player's health by a 25 percent multiplier. What's even better is that this effect can occur even after players have used buffs and talismans to gain extra health, making the effect even more powerful.
