How to get to Cloudsgate Citadel in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:
??? is the path to Cloudsgate Fortress. It is made up of several dungeons that you have visited before. To begin your journey, go to the Castle of the Dragon Queen and head to the rounded room on the north side of the structure. The fairy girl will now have a quest marker above her head. Talk to the girl, then enter the large beam of light in the center of the room to go up.
First section of ??? it is a large green field with a single Secret place and what appears to be a cave entrance. The Secret Spot is home to a friendly Metal Slime (alloy to us) monster. Enter the cave to begin the journey through the previous dungeons.
??? features the following dungeon levels:
- Maw of the Necrogond B1
- Maw of the Necrogond B2
- Orochi's Lair B3
- Pyramid B4
- Underground lake B5

At the end of the dungeon, you will end up in an arena where you will fight with Troll Terror, which is a stronger version of the Manoza Castle Boss Troll. After defeating the troll, you will be introduced to Cloudsgate Fortress, which will now be available as a Zoom/Chimera Wing fast travel location.
Be sure to explore them all Cloudsgate Fortress. Behind the king, you will find the Heavenly Helm for Warriors. In the northeast room, you'll find the Bard, who gives three riddles, which is the method of obtaining the second Philosopher's Stone in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. This is just the first of many helpful articles you will find here.
How to get to Xenlon:
Once you enter Cloudsgate Fortressyou are very close to Xenlon. In the center of the main room, you'll find a red carpet leading south from the king's throne. At the end of the red carpet, you'll find a staircase leading down to a lower level. Take this set to exit the main room. In the next room, you'll find an old man offering drinks if you tell him you're going to see Xenlon. This drink does not seem to have any positive or negative effects.
Take the door in the southwest corner of the room to exit. This will lead to the Citadel Tower. The tower has several floors of pretty tough enemies, so you'll want to level up accordingly. Realistically, the first time you fight Xenlon, you'll want to be at least level 50. This is actually low and will be difficult, but it's possible. The first time I beat Xenlon, I was level 58.
Xenlon can be found at the top of the tower, and you'll know you're in the right place when you reach a long staircase. Take your time using any supplies and adding any items you might want to use to your party's personal inventories. Then let the fun begin.
How to unlock Temple of Trials in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
To receive your first wish from Xenlon, you must win in 35 turns or less. After defeating Xenlon, they will keep their word and present you with a list of what appear to be five possible wishes. However, if you look at the bottom of the list, there will be a blank space between the last wish and the end of the text box. If you click down, you'll notice that you can actually highlight the white space. Choose this as your wish to unlock the Temple of Trials.
Xenlon will wonder out loud how you knew about this option, but still grant his wish. They will then explain how to find the entrance, which they describe as a “tear in the fabric of reality.”
How to enter the Temple of Trials in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:
Xenlon will explain that to enter the Temple of Trials, you must board Ramia The Everbird on Aliahan Island, then fly north. That's actually the best way to describe the process.
While flying over the ocean, you will suddenly see a bright light in the sky. It floats in place and gets bigger as you get closer to it. If you fly up to it, you'll see an “Enter” prompt. Interact with the prompt and you'll be transported to the Temple of Trials.
The Temple of Trials is a large dungeon that is made up of five different sections, like the points of a star. At each point, you will find a trial. Each trial has specific rules and rewards. After completing all five trials, you will unlock the sixth and final trial, which is a battle with The Great Dragon.
