How to get goat milk

Goat's milk is becoming an essential ingredient for any chef and brewer Luma Islandbut it is not very easy to find. This ingredient is something you will only start needing later in the game when you reach the Mountain and unlock higher level recipes to become a Master in your profession.

You can get goat milk once you start hosting goats on your farm, but it's not clear what you need to do initially to bring them to your farm. So, here's everything you need to know about caring for these animals, getting the milk, and how much it will cost you.

How to get a goat

Before you can get a goat and subsequently goat milk, you need to buy the blueprint for a goat shed from the drawing shop next to Balthazar's shop. It costs 10,000 gold coins, so it may be a while before you can afford it Luma Island. Once you have the blueprint, you will need to build the shed on your farm. You will need the following materials for this:

• 20 mountain boards
• 25 fern leaves
• Five copper bars
• 10 Moonstone Bars

Mountain Planks and Moonstone can only be found once you've reached the Mountain, so you'll need to unlock them before you can finish building the Goat Store. Mountain Planks can be crafted by the Sawmill with Mountain Wood, but to get enough moonstone ore for the bars, you'll need to enter the Mountain Cave. Once you've built the shed, you'll need to buy goats from the Farm Shop in town. They cost 5000 gold each and you can house two goats in the shed at a time. Don't forget to build a fence around the shed so they don't wander off.

How to get goat milk

You can get goat milk by feeding the goats in your hayloft. once a day. You can get hay by chopping any grass with the ax and drop it on the ground for the Goats to eat using the R key.

To make your life easier, you can also invest in a trough and fill it with hay so that your Goats always have something to eat, even when you're not there. This will also save you the effort of haying them once a day. You can get the blueprint for a gutter from the Drawing Shop and it costs 10,000 gold coins. Unlike the goat shed, however, the material cost to build it is much lower:

• Five Farm Wood
• A copper bar
• 50 Hay

Goats are also useful for warding off foxes Luma Island. Foxes start appearing when you find chicks on your farm and force the chicks to hide in their coop, which means they don't drop eggs and kill the bugs that are harassing your plants.
