Dimengeon can be improved
A popular mechanic in many JRPGs, especially the older ones, is random encounters. It adds a degree of uncertainty to exploration, though it can get a little boring in certain scenarios. Fantasy Neo Dimension found a rather elegant solution to this in Dimengeon.

Fantasian Neo Dimension challenged me more than any Final Fantasy game in years
Fantasian Neo Dimension seems like a challenge, especially for those of us brand new to it.
Dimengeon allows you to catch enemies as soon as they appear so you can fight them later. Except the capacity is only 30 enemies, and that can fill up pretty quickly. It would be great if you could increase this, wouldn't it? Well, you're in luck.
Can Dimengeon be upgraded?
While being able to trap enemies in a small pocket dimension to fight later is a great idea, 30 enemies adds up pretty quickly. While it certainly saves some time, you'll have to fight all of these enemies sooner or later and immediately if they spill.
However, it can be updated. Twice actually, once in Act 1 and again in Act 2. Both have their own associated quests, and both are found on the outskirts of the Vibran Royal Capital. The first can be picked up as soon as you are introduced to Ez's Workshop.
The extreme dimension
After Ez introduces you to his family, talk to one of the children in the main hall of the Workshop. He will be enamored with Dimengeon's design, but notes that it is possible to modify it further to make it more powerful. Of course, Leo obliges.
He only asks first a single magic crystal and battery. You should already have them, but both are drops from enemies. They can be acquired quite easily, especially once you gain the ability to warp into the Machine Realm. Only Analyze an enemy to see what they're getting away with or you can steal.
But even that is not enough. After receiving these materials, he says will need an SX circuit board. He gives you a ticket to pick up from a dealer in town. Go downtown and find this individual taken down an alley behind a building on the far left side of the area. Talk to the group of kids outside first to make them available to chat.
When spoken to, he will ask you what item you are looking for. Make sure you choose the same thing your child asked for or you will have to go back to them to get another ticket to trade with them. After you return, the child enters the articles and The Dimengeon now only has 40 enemiesbut strong boosts also appear more frequently.
The extreme dimension
After entering Act 2, you will have the chance to upgrade your Dimengeon one last time. For that, though, you'll need to have both saved Ez and then completed the quest “Ez and the Guild” before it becomes available.
With these prerequisites met, talk to the same kid as you for the “True Dimengeon” quest to unlock the “Extreme Dimengeon” quest. This time, Prickle also gets involved to help improve the Dimengeon and you are required to pick up two important items – a microship blueprint from Guild HQ and a power source from the Thaumatech Factory. You can do these in any order.
Collecting the microchip pattern
The Microchip's plan is extremely simple, even if it is slightly long for comedic effect. There are no bosses waiting for you hereso enter the guild headquarters and go to the back room that leads to the room you originally saved Ez from.
You can also click on the mission marker in the Pause menu for automatically go there.
Once you get here, interact with the shelf to find out that it's locked, somehow. Return to the main hall to see a silver Orbling that carries the key. Here begins a wild chase across the room until this evil Orbling is finally cornered. Defeat them in battle to get the key. Don't worry, they are a bit pathetic in battle and easy to defeat.
Head back to the shelf and unlock it to get the Microchip Blueprint. This is the Guild HQ section of the full quest.
Terrawatt Battery Assembly
The Thaumatech Factory section of this mission is much more difficult. While you get the part, if it's technically faster, that depends partly on your own skills. As is par for the course in Act 2, you face a boss you've fought beforethough this time with some new moves.
Head towards Thaumatech Factory – Entrance Floor and continue to see a large terminal that you can interact with. Prickle is kind enough to inform you here that you will be facing an uphill battle and it gives you the opportunity to give back. Make sure you are fully healed before starting the boss fight.
For this battle, you will fight with Atomecha 2.0. You may remember when Cheryl and Kina were originally transported to the Machine Realm, or you may have fought this very version while defending the Secret Base with Prickle. Regardless, they don't have much new here, so you can take the usual precautions.
If you previously analyzed the boss during Defend The Secret Base, then they will not need to be analyzed this time. The opposite is also true.
Before you start, make sure that equip any Rubies you have to Leo and Cheryl for increased attack power, as well as Emeralds for additional defense. In battle, the boss has two turrets on their sides. The lion can't attack them, although Cheryl can. Attack the boss ahead with The Lightning of Leo Samidareand use Charge and focus with Cheryl's Ice Kick to deal a massive amount of damage.
Turret damage also depletes Atomecha 2.0's main HP and disables some of their moves.
Prickle and Ez will be your main support units here, casting Barrier All and Defense Up. When the boss gets low on health, they will blush and prepare for an attack hits the entire party for massive damage. With Defense Up and a Barrier, this move can be easily defended against. After the boss is defeated, they will drop the Terawatt Battery.
With both items collected, you can now return to the Workshop to complete the quest. Upgrade to maximum, The Dimengeon can hold up to 50 enemiesand boosts appear even more frequently, including phoenix feathers if party members fall during these lengthy encounters. You'll have to be satisfied with 50 enemies.
Letting Dimengeon fill to the limit is also a very effective means of quickly racking up EXP if you equip the party with Vibran Secret Gems and Unfamiliar Gems.
