How to reduce Frostland team requirements
Frostpunk 2 throws you into a frozen post-apocalyptic world where you must lead a city through harsh winters and make tough choices to ensure your people survive. While your city is your primary focus, you'll eventually need to venture into the unknown to scavenge for resources. To travel in the Frostlands, you need specialized units called Frostland teams. This guide discusses how to get multiple Frostland teams to explore and colonize the frozen landscape Frostpunk 2.
How to get more Frostland teams in Frostpunk 2
Frostland teams in Frostpunk 2 can only be recruited through Logistics districts. These buildings are responsible for sending mapping expeditions into Frostland and transferring resources between the city and its colonies.
The problem is, Logistics districts can only be built on old stations. These are located on the outer edges of your settlement's territory, meaning you'll need to Frostbreak to get to these places before starting construction.
Initially, you get ten Frostland teams by building a Logistics District, which is enough to start exploring nearby areas. However, as your city grows and your needs expand, you'll need to build more logistics districts to recruit more teams. You also have the option to upgrade your logistics districts, which then gives you 15 Frostland teams per district.
An expanded logistics district comes with two building slots where you can place Logistic Bays. Each Logistics Bay has the potential to provide an additional 15 Frostland teams. With two logistics bays in an extended district, you can get a total of 45 Frostland teams.
There are two types of logistics bays you can build in Frostpunk 2:
Automated Bay
Automated logistics relies on using machines to manufacture equipment, reducing the workforce to 500. These locations are more efficient and require less storage space. In addition, it generates an additional 15 Frostland teams.
Vanguard Bay
Vanguard Bays, on the other hand, focuses on survival and training gear. They need 600 workers and can generate the maximum 20 Frostland teams.
How to reduce Frostland team requirements
Alternatively, you can reduce exploration costs to minimize the number of Frostland teams needed for exploration. Doing so frees up some Frostland teams so you can send them to other areas for research. This is possible through several research projects:
- Scout HQ: Survivalist HQ significantly reduces exploration costs and time, meaning you'll need fewer Frostland teams for your missions.
- Scout Training: Pathfinder Scouts can also reduce the number of Frostland teams required per expedition. These further reduce the threat level of the territory, ultimately reducing the chances of Frostland teams getting lost or injured.
