How to manage staff in Planet Coaster 2
Once you hire a new staff member, they will immediately start looking for work. If there is a job available that matches their experience, they will automatically jump into action. For example, if you have an unsupervised pool in your park, hiring a Lifeguard will automatically assign it.
You can also manually assign staff members to specific tasks. To do this you will need to click on the race/facility you want to assign them to and then go to the Personal option. Click on the Staff Picker tool to designate a staff member for that building.
In addition, you also have the option to set the salary for your employees. Go to the Park Management menu and select the Personal option. A new window will show you all the staff members you currently have. Click on the Salary Range to toggle between Low, Fair and High Salaries.
Setting the salary to low wages will cause them to lose morale quickly and eventually quit the job.
The morale of your staff members is also displayed in this menu. The game has five levels of morale: Miserable, Unhappy, Content, Happy, and Very Happy. Ideally, you'll want all of your employees to be happy, but the content is acceptable too. If Morale is at Miserable for more than two days, the employee will quit working for you.
The status column in this window shows you what your employees are doing. at this moment. You can click the Schedule button here to set a custom schedule for each employee. Clicking the Fire button will set their status to Leaving the Park.
How to boost morale in Planet Coaster 2
Tracking your staff morale and ensuring that they are happy with their jobs are essential to keeping your operations running smoothly. If your employees don't get enough breaks, or if their pay is set to Low Pay all the time, they will eventually lose interest and quit their jobs. That means you'll need to hire a new member of staff to replace him.
The first thing you need to do is make sure there are enough staff facilities around your park so that employees can relax during their breaks. You can build three types of staff facilities, each handling a different number of staff members.
Unit name |
Employment of staff |
---|---|
Staff facilities Small |
Maximum 4 staff members |
Staff facilities Average |
Maximum 8 staff members |
Facilities for large staff |
Maximum 16 staff members |
You also want to make sure you're paying your employees fairly. Low Pay is fine for a few days, but you don't want to use it as a permanent option as it will quickly deplete morale. Also, give your employees at least one or two breaks during work hours. You can check this in the Park Management menu.
If your employees don't get enough breaks, consider setting the salary to high until you can hire new workers.
Planet Coaster 2 take the management side of the game seriously. As you progress through the game, expanding and increasing the rating of the park as you go, you will naturally end up with many employees. Monitoring their morale and making sure they are happy with their work will prevent any of them from suddenly giving up on you.
