Tien in Versus and online matches

A character screen detailing Tien's stats in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

Overall, Tien's stats aren't anything to write home about as they're pretty basic. This comes as a benefit, however, as the low stats come with it a low DP cost of four. What he makes up for his low stats are his low cost of qualification and Extremely versatile special moves.

For starters, Solar Flare is an amazing tool against extremely aggressive opponents. Upon activation, it will be momentarily stuns and blinds the opponentleaving them open to take a lot of damage. Be careful when activating Solar Flare as can be avoided and leaves you completely open to the opponent.

Solar Flare has super armor on activation and can only be interrupted by stronger attacks. You will still be able to take damage.

Wild Sense will automatically avoid the next melee attack the opponent throws at you, countering it with yours. This can be used both defensively and offensivelyas possible activated preventively and held until the first opponent attacks.

Dodon Ray fires a beam attack that will travels extremely fast and deals moderate damage. It is effective as both a combo finisher after a launch or a ranged strike tool against opponents trying to charge Ki. Its absolute speed and extremely low cost making it the most effective tool in his kit.

Tri-Beam also shoots a fast projectilealbeit with less tracking and deals more damage than Dodon Ray. Although there is a slight increase in damage compared to Dodon Ray, the cost is an additional Ki Gauge and maybe not worth it in the long run.

Neo Tri-Beam is Tien's ultimate attack, which comes with its own unique effect. While a a single blast does fairly little damagemoving can be shoot continuously up to 10 timesdrastic increasing his damage with the price draining your health after each subsequent injection. This should be used at the end of a combo and it is only really worth it when the opponent is low on health.

Neo Tri-Beam can't kill you if you waste all your health.
