Insider has some bad news for PlayStation fans

Jeff Grubb reports that there has been no news from him regarding a PlayStation Presentation or Gameplay despite players' expectations. During the year many big announcements were made and with titles like Concordia out of the way, PlayStation execs might be interested in giving fans something else to look forward to. It's not unreasonable to look towards the end of the year for more announcements.

While there have been plenty of big PlayStation releases in 2024 such as Helldivers 2, Star Bladeand Astro Botplayers who had fun with those titles might look for something else to entertain themselves. Naughty Dog has projects in the works, Sucker Punch Productions has announced Yotei's ghostand Kojima Productions continues to work on Death Stranding 2. There's a promising lineup in the upcoming PlayStation 5, but when fans will actually get more information about any of these games is unclear. Some have hoped that a State of Play or Showcase in early winter might be that moment.

As the end of 2024 approaches, many people are expecting some big announcements for upcoming PlayStation Exclusives and other industry leaders, but the lack of sound from big-name insiders suggests there could be few, if any. major developments for PlayStation in the immediate future.

PlayStation 2024 may be over

Some fans have pointed out that Sony had a game state in January 2024, using that as evidence to suggest the likelihood of an event in early 2025. Others believe that there is still a chance for a November or December show and that the information will appear as November draws to a close. While there's a lot of anticipation about what's next for PlayStation, there's another event that gamers can pin their hopes on.

Many seem to believe that The Game Awards 2024 show is where any major year-end announcements will take place. Xbox, Nintendo, and PlayStation have all used the event at one point or another to launch big reveals, so it might be reasonable to think that this trend will continue. Nintendo fans believe The Game Awards will be a great window to reveal the Switch 2 because so many people will be tuned in to see what's going on, and Sony could use some of that time to focus on announcements as well bigger PlayStations, given the opportunity.

PlayStation 5

Sony's PlayStation 5 is part of the ninth generation of consoles and debuted with a launch lineup that included Demon's Souls and Astro's Playroom. The console comes with a Blu-ray disc, although a digital-only edition is also available for a cheaper price.
