PlayStation restocked select items from its 30th anniversary collection last week, and as expected, everything that was restocked sold out almost immediately. The only item that hasn't been restocked, and hasn't been since pre-orders sold out, is the PlayStation Portal Anniversary Edition. However, there may still be some stock of the handset left with a new report claiming they will be restocked soon.
That's according to Wario64. The Twitter account noted that a PlayStation Direct source told them that there is still more stock of the Anniversary Portal and that those waiting for it can expect to see it go on sale in the next couple of weeks. This information was shared on Friday, which means that if correct, the Portal will be restocked by the end of next week at the latest.

The PlayStation Portal is finally a device worth buying
Now supporting cloud streaming, PlayStation Portal doesn't feel quite so expensive.
Even though there has been no official confirmation from PlayStation, Wario64 is a very reliable source when it comes to anything related to video game retail. If they weren't almost certain that the Anniversary Portal would be restocked soon, they wouldn't have shared the information with their followers. However, until PlayStation updates the store page, there's no way of knowing when exactly this restock might happen.
Anniversary PlayStation portal may be restocked soon
Potentially another chance to buy one
The gift that the 30th anniversary PS5, DualSense and DualSense Edge will be restocked last week came when PlayStation added a note to each of its three store pages. He informed the stock checkers that all three items were still out of stock, but to come back Thursday at noon EST. That note wasn't added until a day before the restock, so if the Portal gets similar treatment, we probably shouldn't expect an official restock update until Wednesday at the earliest.
The Portal received quite a bit of criticism when it was announced in 2023. However, pre-orders for the base model sold out almost instantly, and the device was very hard to find for a long time after launch. It will likely be in demand again throughout the holiday season thanks to the update it received, making the portal work without the need for a PS5.
The biggest issue many had with Portal during its first year was the inability to use it unless the handheld was tethered to a PS5. This is no longer the case and certain games available through PS Plus can now be played on Portal without a console.
