Luffy's post-Elbaf power explained

Monkey D. Luffy is now one of the Yonko after defeating Kaido in the Wano Land arc. One piece. In Egghead, Luffy was able to improve his control of his Awakening, along with many others, even more, and fans know that he is continually getting stronger even now. Even in the early parts of Elbaf, fans have seen great progress from Luffy, and if this implies anything, it's that Luffy is still growing in strength and hasn't reached his ceiling yet.

Moreover, fans know that he has an even higher level to reach, AMD after what happened on Egghead, Elbaf must be a stepping stone for him. Luffy must become even stronger in the future One pieceand fans can't wait to see what level he will reach once he gets out of Elbaf.

Luffy is definitely one of the strongest characters in One Piece right now. Being one of the Yonko emphasizes this. Even at the beginning of the Elbaf arc, Oda has pointed out many times that Luffy is now seen as Red Hair's equal. Of course, this doesn't mean that Luffy is equal to Shanks in terms of power, which it very well could be, but more that Luffy and Shanks now stand on the same pedestal and hold the same title of Yonko. At this point, Luffy is an extraordinarily powerful individual. Not only has he mastered all three types of Haki, but he knows all three advanced versions of this power and can use them effortlessly.

You can infuse the Supreme King Color, right? – Luffy

Although Luffy's control of the Supreme King Haki Infusion was not as strong at the beginning of his fight against Kaido, since then he has improved tremendously. At this point, Luffy can use Haki effortlessly and doesn't even suffer from as many disadvantages as before. When it comes to using Devil Fruits, fans know that Luffy is a master of his powers. He accessed Gear 5 and was able to use it multiple times in the same arc, as seen in Egghead.

In Elbaf, Luffy used Gear 5 even for mundane acts, such as fighting Road's pet Hyllmangandr. This just goes to show how confident and comfortable Luffy is while using these powers, and it's definitely an improvement, albeit one that might not be obvious to fans at first glance. Additionally, Luffy has now demonstrated the ability to use power such as Gear 4 in limited parts of his body such as only his arm.

This is a huge step forward for him and it just shows that he is now on a completely different level than before. Luffy is still growing and will continue to grow throughout the Elbaf Arc and fans know he has a very high level to reach if he really wants to defeat the likes of the Elders and more specifically Imu.

Why Luffy has to work on his Haki in Elbaf

Luffy's Haki isn't up to Joy Boy's level yet

The Egghead Island arc gave Luffy the blueprint of where he needed to improve and what he needed to do to be able to fight against the World Government. Fans already know that Luffy's clash against the World Government is inevitable, which means he'll have to toughen up even more when he goes to fight them. Luffy is very strong now, but not strong enough to defeat the elders and Imu. As seen in the Egghead Island arc, Luffy can fight the Elders and even overpower them. However, what he cannot do is violate their immortality, which means that in a long battle, he will lose against them. Even though Luffy can overpower them in the end, they can simply continue to regenerate and not lose their stamina. Luffy, on the other hand, will eventually lose Gear 5, which is his biggest weakness, as he will eventually fall. It means characters like the Elders will be declared victorious.

If the Elders are so powerful, fans know that there is absolutely no way that Luffy can defeat Imu right now, who many believe is already immortal like Ivankov. As such, Luffy needs to strengthen a lot if he wants to defeat the Elders, and Oda has already given fans the answer as to where he needs to improve. In Egghead, the Iron Giant ended up saving Luffy by unleashing Joyboy's Haki.

Using his strongest Haki, the Elders' transformations were nullified, and at the same time, this summoning was also nullified. The elders felt the real damage and even Imu was in pain when she felt Joyboy's Haki. Fans know that the answer to defeating the Elders and Imu lies in the Supreme King Haki, especially the highest level Haki.

Currently, Luffy does not have access to such powerful Haki. This means that only characters like Shanks are capable of defeating people like the Elders right now and Luffy will have to reach this higher level in Elbaf. This is where Shanks comes in.

Luffy Vs Shanks in Elbaf could improve it

Whenever Luffy fights someone, he definitely takes a few tricks from their deck and adds them to his own. Luffy did this in his fight against Katakuri and even Kaido, so Shanks shouldn't be an exception. Luffy and Shanks will inevitably fight, and the best place for them to fight is Elbaf. If they end up fighting here, Luffy will definitely learn from Shanks how to use the highest level Haki and then channel it himself. This essentially means that Luffy's King Supreme Haki, along with other forms of Haki, can be further worked in Elbaf. Even though he is a Yonko, there are still things Luffy doesn't know and will have to learn if he wants to defeat the World Government's strongest fighters. This is exactly why Luffy's fight against Shanks is so important and why it needs to grow even more here.

Luffy's power post-Elbaf

Once Luffy vs Shanks is over and he gets out of Elbaf, he will be stronger than ever. In fact, it can be said that Luffy will be much stronger than Kaido and even above the level of a regular Yonko. He will be a Devil Fruit Awakening master, but more than that, he will use Haki on a similar level to Joy Boy. This would essentially be the last step for Luffy to be the Pirate King and signal to fans that he is now ready for the Final War in One Piece, which should be right around the corner.

Using these Powers, Luffy should be able to counter the threat of the Five Elders and more than that, defeat characters like Imu. Even Blackbeard, who could nullify Luffy's Gear 5, should be defeated using this new level of Supreme King Haki that Luffy could learn from Shanks in Elbaf.
