Some Pokemon GO players are confused and unhappy about the new Timed Research for the Costume Party, which includes Halloween-themed Pokemon.

In a new tweet, Niantic released an important update about a frustrating issue players have been facing lately. Apparently, some Pokemon Go players were subjected to false bans due to an issue that resulted in receiving in-game suspension or ban messages. Niantic claimed that the issue has now been resolved, so players who were affected were now unbanned from the game. However, fans are particularly unhappy with how Niantic handled the whole situation for a few reasons.

Pokemon GO players unhappy about not being given any compensation for fake ban

First, it seems that many players remain banned. More Pokemon Go players on Twitter and Reddit noted that they still get a ban message while starting the game. In response, Niantic noted that affected players should contact customer support and appeal their ban. Additionally, the fact that there is no compensation for the whole fiasco is something that has not gone down well with the community. Given that it all happened during the debut of the Gigantamax feature in Pokemon Gothis essentially meant that players could not participate in raids altogether. As a result, affected users were expecting at least a bug fix alongside a makeup event. However, Niantic has not announced either of the two so far.

The Gigantamax feature had a lot more hype surrounding it compared to the Dynamax feature as many considered the latter a gimmick. However, the high difficulty level of Gigantamax battles makes it extremely difficult Pokemon Go players to win a raid with less than forty players. With the bogus ban issue coinciding with this, many locals Pokemon Go communities that arranged meetups for raids were unable to catch Pokemon because some of their team members ended up getting banned. Whether Niantic will compensate players remains to be seen.
