Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Seven-Star Tera Raid Battle Torterra (Mid-November 2024)

  • Torterra the Unrivaled will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raids from November 14th to 17th
  • A second round will take place between November 21-24 for Pokémon coaches who missed the first weekend.
  • Torterra the Unvaled will be of the Tera-Ground type and will bear the strongest mark.
  • Grass Pokemon are recommended to withstand Torterra's strong attacks.

Like previous bosses, Torterra the Unvaled will have a hidden ability available for use. In this case, Torterra will have Shell Armor, which protects him from critical hits. This hidden ability was previously featured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violetduring the March 2023 Tera raids against Samurott the Peerless. However, Shell Armor can be removed by moves like Skill Swap, Worry Seed, and Gastro Acid. Even without Shell Armor, Torterra the Unrivaled can still use grass and ground attacks, the latter type gaining a power boost from Terastallization. Although Flying Pokemon are immune to moves like Earthquake, Torterra can counter with Rock-type attacks like Stone Edge.

Given Ground-type's weakness to powerful Grass Pokemon, a team with creatures like Serperior and Appletun could prove useful. Only time will tell which strategies Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players develop.
