RIYADH: Members of Saudi Arabia's Project Masam removed 670 explosive devices from various regions of Yemen last week. The total includes five anti-personnel mines, 47 anti-tank mines, 570 unexploded ordnance and 21 explosive devices, according to a recent report. Ousama Al-Gosaibi, director general of the initiative, said a total of 453,968 mines had been cleared since its establishment in 2018. The explosives were planted indiscriminately and posed a threat to civilians, including children, women and the elderly .
