Just two days into the new month, an analyst shared his findings, noting that the PS5 significantly outperformed its competitors in November, with the Nintendo Switch eight years into its life cycle surpassing Xbox console offerings.

On the Installer Core forums, analyst Welfare shared his findings, particularly focused on Amazon's November sales.
They suggest that the PS5, supported by the launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro, sold about 153,000 units last month, an increase of about 25% from the November 2023 estimate of 122,000 units. Welfare suggests that Sony has sold somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 PS5 Pro consoles on Amazon, with around 90,000 PS5 Slims accounting for the bulk of sales.
With the Switch 2 news seemingly imminent, sales of Nintendo's eight-year-old console have dropped significantly from 143,000 in November 2023 to 56,000 this year. But despite a sharp decline, the Nintendo Switch still managed to outsell the Xbox, which Welfare estimates sold around 32,000 units in November 2024.

It's likely to be worrying news, but not surprising for Microsoft, as the Xbox has been struggling against its competitors for the past few years. Despite the incredibly successful launch of Call of Duty this year, which was helped by Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, the company has faced hundreds of layoffs in its gaming departments over the past two years. Nintendo, on the other hand, will likely be delighted with the sales. Considering 2024 was a particularly quiet year with no major tentpole releases, continuing to sell so many units is a boon.
