Sega Hardlight has revealed that Shadow the Hedgehog will be added to the game roster Sonic Dream Team on December 18, bringing his signature Chaos skills. Sonic Dream Team is an Apple Arcade exclusive title that was first released in December 2023. This game is the first full 3D platformer developed by Sega Hardlight; the studio's previous outings have included endless racing games such as Sonic Forces: Speed Battle and Sonic Dash. The dream team has a roster of six playable characters, split between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, and Rouge.
Sonic Dream Team has received a variety of post-release updates since its first release, including a brand new area known as “Sweet Dream”, a bonus level containing some of the hardest challenges. This game is also receiving post-launch content as part of the “Fearless: Year of Shadow” event, which focuses on Sonic's anti-hero rival. Similar to how Sonic X Shadow Generations when promoted to a leading role, Shadow will be playable in Sonic Dream Team also.
