Latest disclosures – October 28, 2024
Despite the name, Magic: The Gathering's Foundations Jumpstart isn't just another tie-in to the similarly named Foundations. Instead, it's its own Jumpstart set, similar to the original and Jumpstart 2022, complete with new cards and reprints not found in the other set.
These sets are always an absolute blast to play and give you a chance to get your hands on some real cards. The set launches on November 15 alongside Foundations, and here's every book you'll be able to find in it.
Unlike the Foundations, these books are not standard legal unless they have already been printed in a standard legal set.
Updated October 28 at 07:01 GMT by Joe Parlock: After a slight snafu, we're still waiting for the Foundations Jumpstart set. It will probably be today, but we also have the usual basics to focus on, so be prepared to see a lot of cards.

White
Like the original Jumpstart set, Cats and Dogs seem to be the big draw for white in Foundations Jumpstart. Generous Pup is definitely a card to watch as it goes wild with cards like Cathar's Crusade or any +1/+1 counter doubler.

Blue
Ninja is set to be a theme in Foundations Jumpstart thanks to Turtle Taeko's lefty Patient Avalanche.

Black
Card draw, life loss, and creature sacrifice are all in Black's wheelhouse, making the Vilis, Broker of Blood reprint a great inclusion for this set.

Red
Larch, Hedron Grinder now gets some fun toys in Foundations Jumpstart, thanks to Frontline Heroic copying your spells for extra value and Hearts on Fire giving you the option to target just one creature. Expect to go wide and use a lot of burn spells in red this set.

Heroism from the front line Two generics, one red – Rare When Frontline Heroism comes in, it hastily creates a 1/1 Red Soldier creature token. Whenever you cast a spell that targets only one creature you control, create a 1/1 Red Soldier creature token with haste, then copy that spell. The copy targets that symbol. |

General Kreat, Bolt Bearer Two generic legendary creatures and one red – Goblin Soldier – 2/2 – Uncommon Whenever one or more Goblins you control attacks, create a 1/1 red Goblin creature token that is attacked and attacks. Verdant
If you won't lay down your life for Shroofus Sproutsire, then you should be ashamed of yourself. That perfect guy is an impressive new Saproling Commander, and supported by cards like Scythecat Cub, could put out dozens of tokens every turn.

multicolour
Jumpstart sets don't tend to focus too much on multi-colored cards, since the deck themes are usually monocolored. The original Jumpstart only had a few, and Jumpstart 2022 had none at all. But who knows, maybe Foundations Jumpstart will buck the trend?

Colorless
Colorless cards are the backbone of Jumpstart sets because they give you access to all-important artifact synergies and mana smoothing. We'll also be getting multi-colored lands to help any deck you put together work.
