Trailblazer's time control ability is a big deal in Amphoreus

Amphoreus is a mysterious dystopian world that has survived a millennium-long war between titans and mortals. When the crew of the Astral Express arrives, they will meet a group of heroes known as the Heirs of Chrysos, whose mission is to obtain the Coreflames of the Titans so they can return the planet to its former glory. Amphoreus also has influences from Greek mythology, which are evident in the characters, locations, and even the gameplay.

As mentioned, one of the core gameplay mechanics of Honkai: Star RailThe Bow of Amphoreus is the Trailblazer's ability to control time, also known as the Prayer of Oronyx. Oronyx is known as the Titan of Time, who rules the past, present and future of Amphoreus and also protects memories. Conformable Honkai: Star RailIts developers, Trailblazer is able to use the Titan's power through a phenomenon known as Oronyx's Miracle, allowing them to recreate illusions of the past and restore certain objects to their original state.

Game clips from Honkai: Star RailHis Special Program Version 3.0 stream showed Trailblazer exploring a ruin in Castrum Kremnos and approaching a volume to activate Oronyx's Prayer, which is symbolized by an hourglass symbol in the lower right of the screen. This gives them the ability to see visions of the past that can help them reconstruct access paths to reach certain areas, and in some cases timelines can converge and the Trailblazer can see the past and present states of the map.

The rewind ability allows them to stop time at just the right moment to create walkways, clean up debris, and even stop Zagreus, an evil thief, from stealing a treasure chest from the world above. This new game mechanic is quite similar to Life is strange and Life is Strange: Double Exposuretime bending powers, where players can use these abilities to solve puzzles.

  • The Miracle of Oronyx: A phenomenon used by followers of the Time Titan to create illusions, change reality, and return objects to their past state.
  • Oronyx's Prayer: A scrolling power that Trailblazer can use to return objects to their past state. This can be used on memory-charged items that show a surge of energy indicating that Oronyx's Prayer can be used there.

It is not yet known if the time control mechanism will be available throughout Amphoreus or only in a specific area similar to Penacony's Dreamscape. Honkai: Star Rail the developers also teased that there would be a special map in the Amphoreus update where the Trailblazer “can experience the past and present in all its glory”.

Also, the importance of this power is still under wraps, which could be an indication that Oronyx's presence could be a big problem in the long run. This is interesting because there is a rumor that March 7th could have a massive role Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 because of an unannounced character similar to her known by their Divine Authority, “Oronyx, Veil of Evernight”. For now, players will just have to wait until Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 launches on January 15th to learn more about Amphoreus and everything inside it.
