Surviving the zombie apocalypse requires not only the most powerful weapons, but also items that can restore your health when you start to feel tired. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has plenty of food and drink to get you and your survivors back into the fray. Some of the items are plentiful to find, while others require a bit of work, but are worth the effort to obtain.
So which foods will heal you the most, and which ones will do more than restore a few blocks of health? It may be a zombie hotbed, but at Willamette Parkview Mall, you can eat like a king if you know where to look. Here are the eight best food and drink items in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
8 Milk
Simple but effective
Milk is one of the most common foods you can find in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. This food item is everywhere in the mall and provides a pretty decent health boost. These will sometimes come out of boxes or be found in empty stores.
Milk looks very similar to orange juice in terms of size and will actually heal the same amount of four health blocks. You can find milk in abundance in Seon's Food and Stuff. Milk is also a vital ingredient for some of the best blended juices in the game. However, there are still better options when it comes to food and drinks.
7 Wine
Survive the outbreak with class
One of the most elegant drinks in the entire game is wine. You'll find an abundance of wine in the cafeteria to use when you need a quick pick-me-up. You can also find an infinite supply in Seon's Food and Stuff.
The wine will heal four health blocks from Frank, but it also has a secondary purpose. Two wines can be blended together using a blender to produce the Quickstep blended juice. So whether you want to drink it straight or use it later to get access to one of the best blended juices in the game, it's always handy to pick up a bottle whenever you come across it.
6 Orange juice
The juice is free
Coffee creamer and orange juice both apparently heal four blocks of damage. However, this does not mean that they are equal in terms of utility. While accessing the infinite supply of coffee creamer requires going into Sean's Food and Stuff, orange juice is much more accessible.
There is an infinite amount of orange juice on the second floor of Paradise Plaza. This makes it an easy item to stock up on when you're out for cups. Additionally, the supply placement also happens to be right next to a nectar blender and within jumping distance of a katana. So you can prepare properly in just one visit.
5 Golden brown pizza
Put the pizza in the microwave
An easily missed detail that only Dead Rising veterans will remember is that frozen foods can be cooked to improve their effectiveness. This can be done by placing items such as frozen vegetables in the microwave. One of the best items to do this with is frozen pizza which, when cooked, turns into golden pizza.
Pixelated pizza has never looked better. Fresh out of the microwave, you'll notice it has a slightly different art object when in inventory. Smoke will also come out of the pizza to certify that it is fresh and ready to eat for four blocks of health.
4 Well done steak
A feast for the hungry
Another item you can cook is steak. When you put it in the microwave oven, you can get a well-done steak. This product is one of the staple foods that heals the most without having to be juiced first. Raw meat will heal three blocks, but once you cook it, well-done steak will heal six health blocks.
Does Willamette Mall Really Have the Best Meat in Town? You will need to do this if you want to survive in Infinity mode. However, remember to cook your meat raw, or you may end up with spoiled meat that isn't as delicious to eat.
3 Nectar
The easiest blended juice to make
Once you've moved past the foods that are readily available at the mall, it's time to set your sights on blended juices. These are some of the best food and drinks you can get in the game, but they require a bit more effort than usual.
Nectar is by far the easiest blended juice to make. You can make an infinite supply of nectar by using the infinite birth rate or orange juice on the second floor of Paradise Plaza. This juice acts as a dual item, as drinking it heals you for six health blocks and immediately gives you access to a queen that you can add to your inventory.
Two wines make a right
Fleetfoot is another fantastic healing item. Incidentally, you can also mix this drink by putting two bottles of wine in a blender. Once again, this mixed drink will heal you for six health blocks, but it has a more useful effect than nectar.
Fleetfoot makes Frank West travel faster on foot. This is an incredibly useful ability as it helps you get the scoop faster when you're in a time crunch. This is also a faster method than using a skateboard. So if you're already on your way to wine and have a few spare moments, throw them in the blender and turn them into this useful article.
1 energize
The perfect defense against psychopaths
The psychopaths in Dead Rising can be some of the toughest enemies if you want to stay on the clock. They can withstand a lot of damage and will take you down multiple times before they finally give up.
The best way to deal with them is to have powerful items that can knock them down. However, if you're underleveled, they might manage to finish you off a few times. Energizer will heal six blocks of health, but will also make you invincible for a limited time. This may be just what you need to take on some of the toughest bosses in the game.
