Immediately, Priscilla saves Subaru from imminent death by destroying the servants of the Emerada Lugunica Chapel, the visual spectacle being one of Re: zero best animation ever. With Priscilla looking for action, Subaru sets out to exact revenge on the Witch Cult alongside his trusted comrades.
Meanwhile, Emilia begins looking for a way out of prison, with Regulus Corneas there to police Emilia and his wives. Acting as a subplot, the exploration of the evil and vengeful Regulus makes the Witch Cult a much more intriguing group of misfits, with their misdeeds taking center stage.
7 Episode Eight – “The One I'll Love Someday”
The gears are set in motion as Subaru and his allies begin their plan to stop the witch cult once and for all
For the midseason, episode eight focuses on setting the stage for the Counter Attack arc, with much of the episode following the war council and their plan to take down the Witch Cult. With the powerful Reinhard van Astrea available to fight, Subaru and his party, filled with characters from all sides of the Royal Selection, converge, forming specific groups to fight specific Sin Archbishops in Priestella.
While much is being set up, some interesting details are emerging, with the revelation of the Tome of Wisdom still existing and Theresia van Astrea being brought back to the stake, creating situations that could dramatically alter future events. In the final moments, Emilia's turn on Regulus at the wedding ceremony and the arrival of Subaru and Reinhard give the audience a glimpse of the all-out war to come, as the episode puts the pieces in place for an epic second half. of the season.
6 Episode Three – “Gorgeous Tiger”
An emotional rollercoaster that sees Garfiel show his vulnerable side

At the behest of Anastasia Hoshin, all of the Royal Selection candidates are in town, with the merging of certain characters bringing them in for exciting fan service. Among the best moments of the episode is the exploration of the challenging relationship between Reinhard and Wilhelm van Astrea, Subaru's preservation with Wilhelm on this theme is serious and intriguing.
Despite much of the episode's comfortable and satisfying content, the cliffhanger of Subaru and the citizens of Priestella falling victim to the new character Sirius brings Subaru back in time, a situation the character has to deal with all over again.
4 Episode Four – “Operation: Take Back the Government Office”
Subaru's war party, full of eclectic characters, confronts the Witch Cult
Midway through Season 3, a war room and party is quickly set up after the devastating attacks of the Witch Cult in Priestella. Led by characters like Subaru, Anastasia, Wilhelm and Julius, the protagonist is surrounded by many fan favorites as the team calculates their next steps. In response, a newly formed war party with a wide range of characters take on a group of Witch Cult members near the City Hall where Capella was stationed.
The combination and teamwork between characters like Crusch Karsten, Garfiel and Julius make for epic viewing. However, the episode's cliffhanger reveals another Sin Archbishop of Greed, Roy Alphard, making events even more unpleasant for Re: Zerohis heroes as the arc heats up.
3 Episode Five – “A Dark Torrent”
Capella displays her mean and nasty nature against Crusch and Subaru
Despite moving forward with their war plan, Subaru and his allies fully realize the problems they face as the fearsome and terrifying Capella makes a shocking debut. What it does ensure is pure mayhem as Reinhard, Beatrice, Subaru and Emilia all take the hit at Sirius to no avail, the chaotic action sequences being thrilling and mesmerizing. After Sirius and Emilia's epic battle, the appearance of Regulus coming to steal the half-elf leaves the episode on a cliffhanger, with Subaru left in despair as he watches the one he loves be declared the bride of the villain Sin Archbishop of Greed.

In Subaru's biggest show of the season, the exuberant protagonist literally takes center stage, acting as the voice and representative of the group trying to destroy the Witch Cult. Initially starting the episode with Al and Emilia's short but interesting conversation using the communication mirrors, Subaru becomes the focal point of the war party.
In one of the best moments of the season, Subaru gives a heartfelt and emotional speech that hits home with the citizens, giving them hope against the Witch Cult, dispelling the Authority of Wrath in the process. Subaru's triumphant speech shows the growth of the characters since the beginning of the series, with the once selfish and ignorant protagonist finally becoming a worthy champion for Emilia and Lugunica.
