There are plenty of entries in this iconic RPG series, but which one is the best?

Because Supercell's titles span multiple genres, we looked at a number of criteria when compiling our rankings. We took into account popularity, reviews, gameplay and frequency of updates, as well as how each game plays compared to similar titles. Every game on this list is free, but you can increase your progress by spending money. Free-to-play players can get everything in the game, though it will take longer.

Squad Busters

Squad Busters title image with multiple characters.

Squad Busters is similar to Supercell's previous title, Brawl Stars. It targets the MOBA and RPG genres with multiple game modes including gem collection, battle royale and team deathmatch. There are also 39 heroes to select, upgrade and play. It will be necessary to evolve your heroes, otherwise you will not be able to win against other players. Similar to Brawl Stars, we have categories like attackers, defenders and healers. Building a balanced team is the way to go here.

The unique thing about Squad Busters is that it features characters from other Supercell games, including Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Hay Day. This gives a clear insight into other developer creations. However, Squad Busters can be overshadowed by Brawl Stars, which has been around for much longer.

Boom Beach

  • Released: March 26, 2014
  • Platforms: Android and iOS

Boom Beach is still one of the best RTS games out there, despite being around since 2014. You start on your own island, which you'll develop by building and upgrading buildings and defenses. The next step will be to expand your dominion over the sea and take over as much territory as possible by defeating the evil Blackguard. As you progress, new buildings and troops are unlocked, making your army even stronger. You can play alone or join a task force and work with other players.

Unfortunately, Boom Beach doesn't get as many updates as other Supercell games. Progress can also be very slow at times as you can only build one structure at a time without spending money. However, Boom Beach is still very playable despite the slow pace.

Hay Day

  • Release: June 21, 2012

  • Platforms: Android and iOS

While other Supercell titles may require intense strategies, Hay Day is the kind of game where you can relax and enjoy the experience. You will grow crops, make goods to sell to others, raise animals and have other farming tasks. Your farm will expand as you progress and new crops, animals and buildings will be unlocked. You can also join a neighborhood and visit your friends' farms. and exchange resources with them.

Hay Day is perfectly paced and you won't have to think too hard about anything. Although the game doesn't get many updates, it still gets a few, and new buildings, animals, and events are still being added to the game. If you want a relaxing game where you don't have to think too much, Hay Day is one of the best farm games on mobile.

Clash Royale

Clash Royale is the real-time multiplayer card game version of Clash of Clans. In Clash Royale, you will build a deck of eight different cards, face an opponent, try to destroy their tower and capture their territory while protecting yours. There are many cards to unlock as you progress and all can be upgraded almost endlessly if you have enough cards and gold.

The game is regularly updated with new cards, game modes, arenas and events. But since there are hundreds of cards with so many upgrade options, the game has a big pay-to-win aspect. You can easily get new cards and level up much faster by paying money, which is frustrating for free-to-play players.

However, Clash Royale has new cards and evolutions that are awarded for progressing the game and participating in events, although it takes a lot of polishing. There are also occasional events that offer free items.

Brawl Stars is a unique take on the battle-royale genre and includes several other modes to keep players engaged. In Brawl Stars, you control a brawler in several different 3v3 modes, including Gem Grab, Basket Brawl, Heist, and Bounty. There are also battle-royales where you can participate alone or with others.

Brawlers have multiple role-based classes, including attacker, defender, or tank, and can be upgraded up to level 11. You can also equip gear and gadgets by unlocking them and making your brawler even more powerful.

Brawl Stars offers monthly updates, and each new season brings new events, brawlers, skins and more. New content, as well as the diversity of game modes and different classes to try, help keep the experience fun. The game also frequently offers free rewards to active players, which can significantly increase progress.

Clash of Clans

A village developed in Clash of Clans.

Clash of Clans has been around since 2012 and still receives consistent updates due to its popularity. You will start your journey in a small village and you will have to build and upgrade your town hall, troops and buildings in order to progress and keep up with other players. The best way to grow your base is to attack other people's bases and loot them for supplies.

You can join a clan and help your friends, including deploying troops for them. Each clan will make their own strategy, but a good starting point is to loot the smaller clans to upgrade yours and then take on the bigger ones. There are even dedicated Clan Wars for this that you can participate in.

Clash of Clans receives monthly updates that bring new events and skins. Some bigger upgrades even came with additional building levels and a level upgrade for the Town Hall. The upgrading and building process can be slow at times, but magic items will help shorten it. All in all, Clash of Clans requires high level strategy and base building, making it a solid choice for fans of the genre.
