At this time, fans understand that the author was suffering immensely in terms of his physical condition and had to face multiple health related issues.

JJK ended earlier this year. The series still has potential and needs a spin-off.
However, this certainly does not mean that the author cannot continue to expand the events of the story in another way in the future. While some fans are holding out for a proper sequel, others believe that JJK will get a spin-off mini-series at some point, or at the very least, a one-shot. While the chances of the series getting a sequel are slim to none, a one-shot or spin-off isn't too far-fetched. If the series ever gets a sequel in any way, fans would absolutely love to know what the role of the Gojo clan will be and how the author will elaborate on them.
What fans know about the Gojo clan so far
The Gojo clan is shrouded in mystery
It's clear that Gege Akutami is a pretty good author and has delivered one of the most exciting stories in recent memory with JJK. But it goes without saying that his handling of many aspects of the story was poor. The way Gege expanded on the concept of the three big families was definitely not good, regardless of what die-hard fans think. In fact, fans know very little about how the three clans work, especially the Gojo clan. The vast majority of this clan's relevance has come from Gojo, who fans know is the face of the entire franchise. Taking Gojo out of the equation, fans know little to nothing about this Clan, which is definitely a problem and shows that the world building of this particular series, where there are multiple factions and clans, is not up to standard.
He is the head of the Gojo clan!!
What fans do know about the Gojo Clan is that they were one of the most important factions in Japan and at the same time held a certain level of monopoly over Jujutsu society. Thanks to Gojo, they enjoyed a lot of power and in many ways immunity. Goja himself has used this immunity many times and used his influence to save people like Yuji and Yuta from certain deaths. At the same time, the only other thing that fans know about the people of the Gojo clan is that they come from Michizane no Sugawara, who is known to have been a vengeful spirit in the past. Other than that, the Gojo clan, who are definitely very powerful, have no information revealed about them by the author, which is sad to say the least. In many ways, the Gojo Clan, one of the three great clans of the JJKexists purely for Satoru.
If Gojo is taken out of the equation, this clan would essentially fall apart, at least based on what the show has told fans so far. At the same time, if this clan is removed from the story, nothing much would change in his world JJK not at all, which just goes to show that the author didn't do a good job of fleshing it out, and at the same time, a sequel series, no matter what form it comes in, should flesh it out properly.
Why Satoru's death is important to the Gojo clan
Satoru's death put the Gojo clan in danger
It shouldn't be hard for fans to understand the predicament of the Gojo clan right now. JJK is definitely over, but fans can always discuss the politics of this world thanks to the outcome of the major war Shinjuku Showdown. Of course, the biggest event in the Shinjuku showdown was Gojo's defeat and death. Gojo fought Sukuna in a very exciting battle and he was definitely with him in this fight.
In fact, on many occasions, Gojo even had the upper hand in this battle, which continued to show his extraordinary strength. The fact is that Gojo was not only fighting Sukuna and his Cursed Shrine technique, but also Megumi and her 10 Shadows technique. The support with two of the strongest techniques was definitely too much for him at one point, and thanks to Mahoraga, he was able to win this battle for good.
Goodbye, Gojo Satoru! I will never forget you as long as I live! – Sukuna
After his death, the other wizards jumped into the fray and essentially took care of Sukuna as well. It was Yuji who finally defeated the King of Curses and dealt him the final blow as well. Clearly, everyone was happy after the major battles of JJK and the fact that the vast majority of characters survived.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Only Spin-Off That Has To Happen
JJK ended earlier this year. The series still has potential and needs a spin-off.
But at the same time, fans must also look at the repercussions of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. Gojo's death in particular will change the world a lot, and fans know that means the consequences for his family will be absolutely massive. Sotoru was the leader of the Gojo clan, and with his death, the clan needed a new chief. Not only that, but a good portion of the Gojo clan's power will now be taken away from them, which essentially means they have to look for alternatives one way or another.
What role could the Gojo clan play in the future of JJK?
The Gojo clan may be looking to reassert dominance
As mentioned before, fans know absolutely nothing about the Gojo clan. They were one of the three great clans of JJK world for quite some time, which means that, for what it's worth, Gojo was not the only source of their political influence and power. It certainly gave them a major advantage, but they're not powerless without it. They must be members of the Gojo clan who are quite powerful themselves, even without the use of the Six Eyes and Unlimited. At the same time, it should also be remembered that members of the Gojo Clan will always have access to these special powers.
The trait known as “The Six Eyes” will appear on someone else after Gojo's death, because it must continue to appear no matter what. Similarly, other members of the Gojo clan will also inherit the cursed Limitless technique, and again, this is inevitable. The most likely outcome here is that the Gojo clan will mostly try to continue their lineage in an effort to spawn someone with Limitless, or at least the Six Eyes. Spawning someone with both will be very difficult considering that Gojo was the first in 400 years to have both powers at the same time.
However, luck might shine on the Gojo family and there might be another individual born with the power of the six eyes and the limitless one at the same time. Even then, if they only had one of these powers, it would still give them a massive advantage and at the very least save face for this clan politically.
It's also possible that there are other powerful members in the Gojo Clan that fans don't know about. Regardless, if JJK continues, the author should flesh out the Gojo clan and show fans exactly how it works, especially after Satoru's death. Additionally, fans could see this major family move against the others, possibly in an effort to take control of Jujutsu society and become the sole dominant power.
The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
