The construction of mysteries based on the first is particularly interesting because it finds ways to connect the impossible with the possible, and the approach of Dr. Ameku is very “ladylike” in solving problems. In many ways, Dr. Ameku is similar to Apothecary Journals the main character Maomao, especially with their passion for deduction and inability to walk away from a mystery. Both are brilliant doctors, but Maomao's situation has an advantage when it comes to being convincing due to the historical setting and the associated lack of medical knowledge characteristic of such a period; however, the screenwriter of Apothecary Journals is also involved in writing the scripts for Ameku MDwhich adds to the reasons why the series is a must-watch. The fact that both episodes 1 and 2 aired on the same day shows the intention to build interest in the series, and better yet, the possibility of a well-paced medical mystery series is very exciting, especially with the rise of medical anime series and healthcare as central themes in recent years.
