Loki is one of the most versatile characters in Marvel Cinematic Universe when it comes to his loyalty and personality. Throughout the Infinity saga and up until his death, Loki often acted selfishly and helped those who could benefit him the most, but it was not uncommon to see him commit heroic acts, especially after his change of heart and character development in the films subsequent .

Despite Loki's change of heart in later films, he started out as a villain. His jealousy of Thor and other insecurities caused him to become an extremely selfish and sometimes violent individual, especially in the first Avengers film. Unwilling to accept his role in the family, he went too far in his attack and for a time became a puppet for Thanos, the main antagonist of the entire Infinity saga.
