If you're having trouble taking down the Stealer of Light Dren in Throne and Liberty, this guide can give you some helpful tips.
Resistance
The first trait he goes over is Resistance, which applies to both Melee attacks and Ranged and Magic in The Throne and Liberty. In essence, Endurance is will allow players to manage more shots on them when in a fight.
will reduce the chance of being critically hit by a certain damage type. Its scaling is broken down by every 10 Stamina = 1% reduction chance for each point above the opponent's critical strike chance.
Basically, if your opponent is using a Greatsword and has a crit chance of 200, and the player's melee resistance is 300, that means they have 100 points above their opponent's crit chance. With the way scaling works, that means it would scale back their critical hit chance by 100\10 i.e. 10%.
Evasion
While Endurance is about allowing a character to be hit and reducing the damage they will take, Evasion aims to prevent a player from being hit completelythat's why it's called Evasion. It will reduce the chance of an opponent's standard attacks landing on the player.
It scales in the same ratio as Endurance of 10 points of Evasion equaling a 1% chance to Evade. And just like Endurance, Evasion can be applied to Melee, Ranged, and Magic attacks.

Which trait should players choose?
Both Endurance and Evasion offer some great benefits. Resist will take out your opponents biggest hits, while Evasion can counter basic attacks that can add up over time. However, there is a recommended way to level up.
At first, players should focus on Stamina when starting out in PvP until they reach Tier 1 Gear Sets (purple gear) in the game. This may come down to the fact that many of the early gear sets don't have a lot of evasion with them and players need a lot of it to make it worthwhile. So getting started with Endurance is the best option for beginning players.
However, once they hit Tier 1 gear sets, they should switch to Evasion. At this point, there will be enough Evasion to make it worth it. Of course, it will take a long time, as tier 1 equipment sets can take a while to arrive.
As mentioned before, these two traits won't do PvE players much good except for those looking for a pure tank build. For PvE, players should focus more on things like Mana Regen, Cooldown Speed, and Movement Speed. But if a player is looking for help with defense in PvE, should go with Evasion as bosses and enemies won't use much critical hits, so resistance is kind of pointless.
