What to expect from the chapter

Togashi worked Hunter x Hunter non-stop for a while now and HxH chapter 407 is highly anticipated. The HxH story goes deep into its current arc, with the Succession Contest taking place inside the Black Whale. Togashi has written many complex stories that will eventually connect here.

Fans can definitely expect a heavy focus on the Phantom Troupe, as it looks like this arc will mark their end, or at least the end of their leader, Chrollo Lucilfer. Togashi is definitely planning something huge for the next few chapters.

Heil-Ly and Phantom Band in action

• Feitan and Phinks locate Heil-Ly's hideout

In Hunter x Hunter 404, Morena and her group were seen planning to kidnap someone. Specifically, Dogman will be seen in action as Morena's strongest and tallest man, who has the ability to determine one's Nen type, proficiency, and entire identity based on how close they get to them to sniff them. Dogman will also be accompanied by Sodom, another member of Heil-Ly. Their goal in this mission, using Halkenburg's funeral procession, will be to kidnap a person – someone who doesn't know how to use nen yet.

While chapter 404 didn't mention who this individual will be, Morena and Heil-Ly already narrowed it down chapters ago. The person Morena aimed to kidnap is supposed to be someone from the Fourth Prince Tserriednich's private army. Some of them could certainly be present at the funeral procession. It is unknown who will kidnap Morena at this point and fans will have to wait and see what Togashi is planning.

However, in HxH 407, fans were definitely able to see this plan unfold as Halkenburg's funeral procession moves forward. This won't be the only thing happening with Heil-Ly. Two members of the Ghost Squad will soon enter their hideout. Feitan and Phinks, who have separated from Nobunaga, are still heading to Heil-Ly's hideout as Cha-R has given them better access to move between the different levels of the Black Whale. As fans saw in HxH 406, the transmitter that was turned into an oyster by Hinrigh has run out of Nen and will be discovered by a member of Heil-Ly soon enough. That being said, Heil-Ly might not find him in time, and the Ghost Squad might get to their hideout first. There might be a fight there, but Feitan and Phinks don't plan to fight, except in self-defense, so they can stay in hiding.

One individual who could certainly stand in their way is Cha-R's underboss Wang, who appears to be working for Morena. The plot with the Phantom Troupe and Heil-Ly is definitely heating up, and Togashi is planning something huge with the two groups.

Another character Togashi will focus on soon is Nobunaga. This member of the Spider-Man had some of the best development in this arc. Nobunaga moves on his own and will be a major character in future chapters.

Chrollo advances to steal the national treasures

The Phantom Troupe had a central role in this Succession Contest arc in the manga. Of course, the most interesting character currently among them is, unsurprisingly, Chrollo Lucilfer, their leader. Chrollo was recently seen in HxH 406. In that chapter, he was seen using a new Nen ability, Love Dial 6700, and fans were able to get an insight into his current goals. Chrollo sets out to steal a treasure, specifically Kakin's three national treasures. If he succeeds in doing so, his Skill Hunter ability will reach new heights and allow him to gain rare and powerful abilities.

In Hunter X Hunter chapter 407, fans will definitely see more of Chrollo. Chrollo will have to find a way to steal these treasures, most likely by himself, or maybe with a partner. He will head in the Black Whale to the first level. Chrollo used the Love Dial 6700 to locate someone, but who that person is remains unknown at this time. There is a hint that this person might be Kurapika. Regardless, Chrollo will shine in the coming chapters, especially when this arc could very well be the last in HxH.

Hisoka and Chrollo will have a rematch in this arc, and with Hisoka taking out some of Chrollo's fellow Phantom Troupe, he sends him deeper into despair. Hisoka might kill another member of the Squad soon, that being Bonolenov, who is currently near him.

The story returns to Princes Kakin and Kurapika

Halkenburg's plan is currently in action

Togashi tackled multiple plotlines in this arc, each one extremely detailed and complex. It recently switched from focusing on the Kakin Princes to focusing on the mob and the Phantom Troupe plot, and may very well return to the Princes soon in Hunter X Hunter chapter 407. A fascinating character in this arc is Prince Halkenburg. This prince killed his original body and is currently in the body of a bodyguard of the first prince Benjamin. The story could focus on him trying to get to Benjamin. However, chaos will appear at its own funeral procession soon enough.

Other interesting plotlines for the princes going on in the present include the one with Prince Fugetsu. Melody and her group plan to kill Prince Luzurus in an attempt to save Fugetsu, and such a crime will not be easy to accomplish and will have major repercussions. This isn't even guaranteed to save Fugetsu. The other Kakin princes like Tserriednich, Camilla and Benjamin will have their interesting moments soon enough.

Kurapika is also extremely busy right now with a new Nen workshop starting up. He plans to reveal the contents of Queen Oito's letter, which could lead to some action from a prince, a good guess here being Camilla. Either way, Togashi still has a long way to go in this arc and a lot could happen in the next chapter.
