What to expect from the chapter

Hunter x Hunter has earned its place among the most legendary manga ever written, and for good reason. The story arc of the Succession Contest was one of the best in the manga, especially when it comes to current events. With each chapter Togashi throws down, the story only gets more engrossing as countless plot lines will soon converge with more lives on the line.

HxH Chapter 406 will see the story continue to shift away from the story focusing on Princes Kakin and Kurapika and instead focus on the story of the mafia families, the Ghost Squad and Hisoka, with the latter just returning to the story.

Nobunaga and his group will jump into action in Hunter X Hunter Chapter 406

The party will head to the Heil-Ly Hideout

HxH 405 was an interesting chapter for spiders. Nobunaga and his group of Feitan and Phinks were once again in the spotlight as they were seen meeting with some relevant Cha-R members to ask some important questions about Heil-Ly. They were even allowed access to a closed door at the end of that chapter. This door will allow them to travel between the different levels of the Black Whale much more easily. This will specifically allow them to get to Heil-Ly's hideout faster. Nobunaga and his group seemed to have been impressed by something they saw behind the door, however, it remains to be seen what lies there.

When they reach their target level on the Black Whale, they will have to track down the transmitter that was hidden a few chapters ago by Hinrigh in the Heil-Ly hideout. They'll probably end up around the venue as well, but locating the entrance might be its own struggle since it obviously won't be in plain sight. These three members of the Ghost Squad will have to use their skills and brains to find him. However, it's also possible that they'll call in at least one more member of the Spiders to help them on this mission, especially someone whose skill would be right for it.

Until now, fans haven't really seen what Nobunaga Nen's ability does, which is intriguing since he's the only member of the Phantom Troupe who hasn't shown his powers yet. This could be his time to show what he can do with his Nen, as has been long overdue, especially since he's held a very relevant role throughout this succession arc.

Heil-Ly could wreak havoc in HxH Chapter 406

Dogman is trying to kidnap someone

Hunter x Hunter 405 set some important future events for Heil-Ly. This chapter showed Dogman as well as Sodom planning to go out and kidnap someone. Who this person is remains to be seen. But one thing that is known is that this person will not be able to use nen.

Dogman will use the crowds caused by Halkenburg's funeral to go around sniffing people. He can sniff people and determine their Nen type and Nen proficiency, and even reveal their full identity, all depending on how close he is to them. This means that Dogman will, in Hunter X Hunter Chapter 406, be able to determine who can use Nen and who can't, and will be able to find someone with a type of Nen they want.

Sodom will then handle the kidnapping after Dogman directs him to whoever he wants. When it was over, HxH Chapter 406 could see them bringing this person back to Morena where they could kiss them, challenging them with her Nen ability and allowing them to awaken their Nen.

While it's unknown who this person will be as of yet, it's not unlikely that Togashi will use a character he's shown before for this. Whoever is kidnapped by Heil-Ly will have a huge role to play. They will definitely force this person to cooperate, one way or another.

Hisoka's involvement in the story increases in HxH chapter 406

Hisoka returned to the story from the previous chapter and could grow HxH chapter 406. Fans previously thought he returned much earlier. However, he is revealed to be a fake Hisoka, specifically Bonolenov, a member of the Ghost Squad disguised as him through Nen's ability to fool mob families.

With Hisoka making his first real appearance in HxH's Succession Contest arc, this can only mean his growing role in the coming chapters. One thing fans will likely see in future chapters is who Hisoka is currently working with. Hisoka was aware of some things he shouldn't know at all, such as the fact that Halkenburg's ability is a group ability and not a solo ability. This isn't really information he could have acquired on his own, especially since even among the characters in this arc, very few know about the nature of Halkenburg's ability.

Chrollo himself believes he is in contact with one of the Kakin Princes. Of these princes, only a few would know about the information that Halkenburg's power is a group effort, and it would either be Halkenburg himself, Benjamin, or perhaps Kurapika, working for Prince Woble. However, none of this makes sense for Hisoka to collaborate with, so it's possible that his alliance isn't with a Prince, but with someone else who might have this knowledge.

One possible candidate who will soon be revealed to be working with Hisoka is none other than Morena, the head of the Heil-Ly mob family. Morena may be working with Hisoka and may have gotten the information about Halkenburg's powers from the Kaiser, someone who could very well be controlled by a Heil-Ly figure, as his behavior is strange, noted by Melody. Hisoka could be Morena's joker as mentioned in HxH 405 recently. That could cause trouble for Nobunaga's group, who are trying to infiltrate Heil-Ly's hideout.

Something else that could soon happen to Hisoka is a confrontation with Bonolenov, who was spying on him. Bonolenov has no desire to fight Hisoka as he would be at a huge disadvantage, but the choice may not be his if Hisoka catches him. This could mark the death of another member of the Ghost Squad, which will send Chrollo further over the edge. This arc will more than likely be the end of the ghost troupe.
