One Piece: Who is Imu?

There are a lot of strange characters in One Piece, but one of the most mysterious is Imu, the secret ruler of the world.

One of the last and possibly the largest islands that Luffy and the Straw Hats encounter is that of Elbaf. Long rumored and often hinted at, there is a lot of mystery surrounding this historic land, so let's take a look at what we know so far about this gigantic island that lies on the way to One Piece.

What is Elbaf?

One of the most important kingdoms in One Piece is one that has only been talked about or seen in flashbacks throughout the manga's expansive history. This island nation is home to giants, beings that resemble humans in shape and form, though they are several times larger than humans and can live for hundreds of years.

This nation of giants has long been a dream destination for Luffy and Ussop ever since the crew encountered two giants, Dorry and Brogy during the Little Garden Arc. The land of Elbaf is covered in mountains as far as the eye can see, but even they are dominated by Treasure Tree Adam, a titanic tall tree that dwarfs most of the island itself. Treasure Tree Adam is so big that its canopy stretches above the level of the clouds.

One Piece: What is Haki?

Haki is one of the most important concepts in One Piece, but it can get quite confusing at times. Learn its basics in this explainer.

Fun fact, when Franky stole 200,000,000 Beer from the Straw Hat Pirates back in Water Arc 7, he used the money to buy wood from the tree, becoming the base for the Thousand Sunny.

On Elbaf is the nation of Warland, often said to be the strongest nation in the world due to the natural strength of the giants. The very concept of war is rumored to originate from this land as it has a long history of violence and warfare.

Where is Elbaf?

The New World of One Piece has plenty of fascinating and dangerous islands and nations to explore, with few as dangerous as Elbaf. This mountainous region is found near the end of the second half of the Grand Line, in the world's most treacherous oceans.

Few pirates, or anyone else, have been able to travel to the remote island, partly because the path they must take is so dangerous and partly because the road is largely unknown due to its remote location. To reach Elbaf, pirates should travel east of Wano and northeast of Egghead Island, locations where the Straw Hat Pirates have recently been.

What does Elbaf look like?

Since most of the island is under the canopy of Treasure Tree Adam, much of the island is influenced by its extent. The land around the Adam Treasure Tree is known to the giants as the Underworld, which appears to be mostly covered in snow and storms. Blizzards run riot on the ground, which may be caused by the lack of sunlight from the dense foliage.

One Piece: Who is Joy Boy?

From myth to reality, the deliverer is finally back from the dead!

Divided into two distinct regions, Treasure Tree Adam has a section of lower branches and, separated by a great distance, an upper canopy.

At the first level of branches is where most of the giants live, sheltered by the leaves of the tree. Here the nation of Warland developed into a thriving society, with the majority of the kingdom found among the branches.

Interestingly, a massive longsword appears to be embedded in the branches of the tree, extending from the upper regions of the tree to the ground. Who or what wielded this incredibly large sword is unknown and may never be revealed.

Who comes from Elbaf?

The new giant warrior pirates of Elbath in One Piece.

Since the island of Elbaf is mainly inhabited by giants, you can expect most of the giants in One Piece to call this island home. Some of Luffy's close companions hail from this nation, and a major villain that has been talked about for some time hails from this land as well.

Of course, this is not a comprehensive list of all the giants of Elbaf. As the Straw Hats explore the island, there are bound to be tons of new giants to help join the crew.
