Witch fire combines soul-like and rogue-lite elements to deliver a challenging adventure where you, a Preyer, defeat the dreaded Witch of the Black Sea and her undead hordes. The game is designed to be punishing, especially for new players. With multiple game systems (and their vague descriptions) working in tandem, it can be quite frustrating to know what to do and how.
That, however, does not say Witch fire it's something to stay away from. On the contrary, once you understand its inner workings and mechanics, the game becomes extremely addictive. Here are some great tips for beginners to help you with this. Go through them all before jumping into them Witch fire.
Classes don't matter
Classes only define your startup tasks in Witch fire. Everyone can unlock the same weapons, spells, and items just by playing the game. Nothing is kept exclusive to a particular class. The only difference is in starting gear, stats and levels. Some offer an advance in Witchery to boost your spells. Others focus on endurance for increased mobility. Saint, for example, is the only class with an unlocked demonic weapon. You must reach level 10 otherwise to unlock one. So it doesn't spend an eternity on the class selection screen.
You are not meant to complete every map the first time
Treat Witch fire as the rogue-lite game is. Each map can only be completed by following a specific progression order. Island of the Damned, the first map you play, can be cleared of all enemies, but its main underground chambers and vaults only become accessible after you play the second map, Scarlet Coast. So, in typical rogue-lite fashion, you hit certain milestones and solve puzzles on maps to progress the story. This is how you beat the final boss of each map.
Healing is a luxury
Never engage enemies thinking you can always heal in Witchfire. You get one healing elixir per expeditionat least in the beginning. While leveling up unlocks more elixir slots, getting caught by enemies at the wrong time will always mean death. You can't expect to survive a high Gnosis attack, even with a high Vitality stat.
You can find and eat mushrooms in the wild to regenerate some health. Some of them, however, are poisonous and will give you a few decay ticks. Learn how to tell the difference between them. The good ones are always white or brown. Stay away from yellow, red, especially those with black spots.
You can recover your corpse
Death is not as permanent in Witch fire as you would think. While you lose all unbound items (ammo, Volatile Witchfire Crystals, Supply Chest Keys, etc.) upon death, you can return to retrieve them.
Your corpse will be marked on the map with a tombstone icon as shown in the image above. It won't appear on the mini-map, so make sure you open the whole map to mark a waypoint. This is a tip that any beginner can use to level up quickly Witch fire.
You only get one chance to retrieve your corpse

Witch fire
. Starting a new expedition is like creating a new save point. If you die again, the location of your corpse will be marked with a new tombstone. The old one and its associated loot will be lost forever.
Watch the mini-map for enemies and points of interest
The mini-map is an important tool for survival and looting Witch fire. It shows the locations of enemies, chests, treasures and other points of interest based on the map. Even better, the minimap icons also differentiate normal enemies from elites, normal chests from locked supplies and ammo chests, etc.
This is critical information when running through an area, especially for players familiarizing themselves with their surroundings. Following the mini-map helps you track your flank and maneuver during enemy encounters, loot ammo, and mine gold or other resources.
Witch fire
also trigger prompts and audio cues as cues. For example, whenever there is a witchfire crystal nearby, you will hear a faint bell and fire crackle. Additionally, a prompt will appear above the mini-map to tease “a familiar warmth” nearby. The more you play, the more you'll realize which events trigger which prompts/cues.
Understand what Gnosis is before updating it
As you explore the Hermitage, you'll notice some locked features that require a certain level of Gnosis. Similarly, each map has areas that are inaccessible unless you meet the Gnosis requirements.
Gnosis is just another word for difficulty Witch fire. Each level spawns new, tougher enemies called elites. Having higher Gnosis also unlocks new maps, areas, vaults, bosses, equipment and chests. It is a necessary part of progression. However, don't blindly increase your Gnosis because once upgraded you can't go back to the previous difficulty level without starting a new profile.
If you can easily wipe out all the enemies on the Island of the Damned, feel free to upgrade to level 1 Gnosis.
Stat distribution defines your early and mid game
Another thing players, especially beginners, should learn is how to manage their stats Witch fire. Every time you level up a stat, your next level up becomes more expensive. So the first few initial levels might seem easy, but soon you'll need thousands of sorcerer fire crystals for a single stat upgrade. Since higher stats have a significant impact on gameplay, boosting your best stats at Ascension Shrine can give you a massive advantage in battle.
Similar to Gnosis,
statistics cannot be reset

Dash to stun and avoid attacks
One of the most common mistakes beginners make Witch fire skip the tutorial. The Hermitage Test Grounds show you how to use your Dash ability, which is essential for survival. First, always remember to run to avoid enemy projectiles, jumps, and attacks. This is the way to move around the battlefield. Second, the full stamina dash reveals red orbs called Soul Seals. Shooting them stuns and amplifies the damage taken by the enemy. They are incredibly useful when facing multiple enemies on higher difficulty levels.
Mix different elements for devastating combos
All weapons and spells do elemental damage that can be combined for bonus effects. The best uploads from Witch fire determine how quickly you can eliminate all enemies in an area. Fire and Ice, for example, mix together to create large explosions that deal insane damage. This is also one of the best elemental combos to go into the game.
Conserve your ammo
Exist no way to increase your ammo in Witch fire. You can only steal ammo from chests and enemies, which is not always guaranteed. So learn to conserve your ammo by doing headshots to deal the most damage.
You also amplify your damage by staying in range. Each weapon is most effective at close, medium, or long range. Shotguns, for example, are useless at medium or long ranges. You'll also know you're out of range if your damage counters show a single white digit. The difference can be from a few bullets to an entire magazine to take down an enemy from far away.
Also, don't be afraid to spam spells. They damage themselves and often soften enemies for you.
Double jump to avoid falling damage
Finally, a little tip to help you navigate the terrain better. You can double jump inside Witch fire to reach viewpoints, to cross large gaps or to avoid enemies. Jump from too high, though, and you'll take fall damage. To undo the damage, remember double jump just before you hit the ground. This is very useful when you need to cover more ground. For example, you can jump off the top of the Wailing Tower hill instead of going around the cliff.
